Considerada como uno de los monumentos religiosos más importantes de América Latina, un paseo por sus navers nos invita a trasladarnos en el tiempo y a conocer cada lienzo, retablo y escultura que hay en su interior. Desde hace casi dos décadas, Telefónica viene realizando un arduo trabajo comunicar a los peruanos con el mundo y hoy, que quiere acercar lo mejor y lo último de la tecnología a las personas, también es momento para mostrar una de las joyas del patrimonio arquitectónico del Perú al mundo. En ese marco, Telefónica se siente complacida por impulsar la publicación de este libro, que revela un anhelo de sincero reconocimiento al patrimonio cusqueño. Se trata así de una cuidadosa descripción de un templo que envuelve sabiduría, historia y arte, más aún luego de su
reconstrucción, realizada en el 2002. Este proyecto, que incluyó la restauración arquitectónica y de todo el contenido artísticode la Catedral, anhelaba y aún anhela unir a la sociedad cusqueña y peruana en torno a una identificacióncon su cultura y su fe. Por todo lo antes mencionado, nos hemos sentido muy honrados de haber patrocinado la restauración de la Catedral con el objetivo de proteger y conservar el patrimonio histórico del Perúy de llevar sus imágenes y estampas fuera de sus fronteras. En este trabajo, unir esfuerzos con el Arzobispado del Cusco fue clave y nos permitió reafirmar nuestro compromiso con el desarrollo del Perú y contribuir con la revalorización de la cultura cusquña. Hoy, este libro nos permite también dar
testimonio de este esfuerzo.
