Hi… and welcome to our ESOL class!
I am a licensed teacher in the State of Ohio with over 25 years of classroom experience. My objective for you is to design a curriculum that
both meets your English proficiency where it currently is, but also challenges you to grow in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
In order for this class to be of maximum benefit to you (given that we only meet twice a week), it is IMPERATIVE that you regularly attend. However, I also realize that as adults we all have commitments and obligations that arise in our lives. If something is going to prevent you from coming on any given evening, I ask that you PLEASE let me know (either by calling, leaving a text message, or emailing me).
One of the tools we will use is the website USA Learns (usalearns.com). This is a GREAT resource for developing vocabulary. In order for us to set up your account you will need an email address and a set of headphones (or ear buds). We will take the time during our first class to get this set up for you. Then, in addition to working on the site during class time, you will also be able to continue your program from anywhere that you have internet access: home, work, library.
