This is an invitation for all families who want to receive the Missionary Disciples of our parishes in their homes for five weeks at Easter or to join one of the groups that will meet in the three

churches.

Our missionaries have prepared for this great mission.

This Evangelization Initiative is an opportunity to deepen and strengthen the bonds of friendship, to share our faith, to grow as a community, as a church. That together we may live and proclaim the joy of the gospel.

Opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Richfield

Easter is fast approaching. This week the Archdiocese announced the April 1 end of all pandemic related restrictions and recommendations. This makes the remaining Lenten days a real opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Richfield Catholic Community is blessed that there are so many opportunities to participate. The sacrament is offered twice each day, Monday through Saturday, now through Wednesday, April 13, on the following schedule:

The first commandment says that we should not put other gods before the Lord. Sharing all of our gifts - our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treasure to support the Church helps us keep God first in every- thing. It helps us from putting other gods before God. It helps us from becoming a slave to our possessions. It helps us to use our gifts for the glory of God and not for the glory of ourselves.

GIVE/DAR GIVE/DAR Love for others Amor por los demas What is the difference between tithing and stewardship?

Both tithing and stewardship are part of a spiritual way of life that calls us to use all of our resources for the service of the Gospel. Everything we are and everything we have comes from God. Offering back to God what He has given us is part of how we worship and give thanks to

God.

Tithing is the practice of giving back 10 percent of what we earn. It comes from the Old English word for “ten.” The first Scriptural example of tithing came from Abraham who gave a tenth of his possessions to the priest Melchizedek. He did so as an act of thanksgiving to God.

Stewardship as a way of life calls us to use well all that we have and all that we are, placing all things in service of others and God. Stewardship helps us see the good

we can accomplish by making God and our spiritual life the most important values in our life. Whatever we accumulate in this life stays here. We can’t take it with us! Both tithing and stewardship help us remember that nothing is mine or even ours ... all belongs to God.

Join Father Bryan each Monday during Lent – March 7 through April 4 (final class this week) – from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for a Lenten journey of basic, foundational

understanding of what we believe Christianity is all about. In these sessions we have talked about everything before, during and after Jesus’s arrival on Earth in a way that you almost assuredly have not heard before.

This 5-week series is being held in the social hall at St. Peter. A light dinner will be served at each session.

Catholics and non-Catholics alike are invited and encouraged to join in this

great opportunity to hear the inspirational teaching from Father Bryan and a time for fellowship with others.

Confirmation: A gift from the Lord

This week seven of our high school students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, a great gift from the Lord.

This Sacrament provides grace for us to grow in spiritual strength. Baptism gives life in Christ:

the beginning of salvation and opening the door to receive the grace of the other Sacraments. Confirmation provides grace for us to remain faithful to the Lord and his Church in the midst of trial, suffering, and persecution. The Holy Spirit is given in a greater capacity, making the gifts and charisms of the Holy Spirit more known to the recipient of the Sacrament. What a gift!

As we pray for these students, may we also reflect on our own gifts received from the Lord and seek to use them for our personal growth in holiness and for the growth of the Church.
