This week a group of us depart for a YouthWorks Mission Trip! We are headed to St. Louis on Sunday, the 25th to serve there until Friday, the 30th. Please be praying for our safe travels, for our openness to what the week holds, and for all those whom we will be interacting with and serving. I really appreciate all of your prayers and appreciate everyone who has generously donated to Youth Group to make this trip happen. Without your support both financially and spiritually, this opportunity to go serve would not have been possible.
Not only has the support for this Mission Trip been incredible, but so has the parish’s support for youth programming and myself in general this past year. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to serve here and I am grateful that the Lord guided and called me here all the way from Kansas. However, once again, I have been guided and called to serve somewhere new, and I must follow His call. I trust that in my time here the Lord has worked through me to plant a lot of seeds. I am grateful to have seen some of the fruits already and trust that there are more hidden in the soil ready to sprout in their due time.
For often our job as Christians is to encounter those around us, walk with each other, and try to love others as Christ loves them, which is the fertilizer for God to work even more visibly in each other’s lives. Please pray for me as I continue trying to plant seeds in a new soil and know that my prayers for all of you will not cease. I would like to leave you with one of my favorite quotes from St. Pope John Paul II, “I plead with you, never, ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid.”

¡Esta semana, un grupo de jóvenes partimos para un viaje misionero de YouthWorks! Nos dirigimos a St. Louis el domingo 25 para servir allí hasta el viernes 30. Les pedimos que oren para que tengamos un viaje seguro, por nuestra apertura, por lo que nos depara la semana y por todos aquellos con quienes interactuaremos y serviremos. Realmente aprecio todas sus oraciones y agradezco a todos los que generosamente han donado al Grupo de Jóvenes para que este viaje se lleve a cabo. Sin su apoyo tanto económico como espiritual, esta oportunidad de servir no habría sido posible.
No solo el apoyo para este Viaje Misionero ha sido increíble, sino también el apoyo de la parroquia para la programación juvenil y para mí en general este y el año pasado. He tenido la suerte de tener la oportunidad de servir aquí y estoy agradecida de que el Señor me haya guiado y llamado aquí desde Kansas. Sin embargo, una vez más, he sido guiada y llamada a servir en un lugar nuevo, y debo seguir el llamado de Dios. Confío que en mi tiempo aquí el Señor ha trabajado a través de mí para plantar muchas semillas. Estoy agradecida de haber visto ya algunos de los frutos y confío en que hay más escondidos en el suelo listos para brotar a su debido tiempo. STEWARDSHIP - IT’S ALL IN THE BASKET
St. Therese of Lisieux made a point of going the extra mile in kindness towards those people who really got under her skin. It was part of her own brand of Everyday Stewardship - thanking God for all His creation, even the parts with which, in her own humanness, she struggled to cope.
I think about this a lot when I challenge myself to give thanks for things that bother me and people who challenge me. When I do this, I envision Christ giving thanks over those insufficient loaves. How many of us would see that paltry little basket and kick a rock in frustration because we can’t feed all our people? “You didn’t give me enough, Lord! You didn’t give me enough patience, enough money, enough creativity, enough stamina to be a good steward. If you had given me more, I could also give more!”

Cuando hago esto, me imagino a Cristo dando gracias por esos panes insuficientes. ¿Cuántos de nosotros veríamos esa canasta insignificante y patearíamos una piedra con frustración porque no podemos alimentar a toda nuestra gente? "¡No me diste suficiente, Señor! No me diste suficiente paciencia, suficiente dinero, suficiente creatividad, suficiente resistencia para ser un buen administrador. ¡Si me hubieras dado más, yo también podría dar más! "

The PTO will be sponsoring a Back to School Splash on Friday, August 13, at the Marion Splash House! It is FREE to all St. Paul Catholic Church and School families. The

We are grateful to those that came out last Friday night to support the Youth Group by coming to Outdoor Movie Night! We enjoyed the lovely weather and watching The Incredibles!
Last Saturday, St. Paul Young Adult Group participated in the CASA Sand Sculpture Artfest. Inspired by the movie the night previous, they did an Incredibles theme with the statement “CASA volunteers are INCREDIBLE!”
Sunday, we had a blast at Youth Group! Nothing says summer like a water fight!

Together discuss how to decorate your garden and flowers that symbolize Our Blessed Mother.
Consider an outdoor statue of Mary with flowers around her. Plant the garden together. Finish by saying or singing a prayer and placing a crown made of flowers on Mary’s head.
Your new faith garden can be a place to pray, reflect on the
blessings of each day and always be something that you can look at and recall how your family has grown in faith together.
