Tired of spending your holidays at the beach?

When it comes to holidays, people get really happy. They want to enjoy those few weeks as much as possible, but they are getting tired of doing the same. That is why some people have stopped going to sunny beaches and have started working on different activities that may help animals and nature.

“What’s another trip to the Bahamas?”, asks Debbie Jacobs owner of a trip company. “Today people want to do something different. Many people know they have a beautiful life and they would enjoy to give something back”. Short time helping programs in which people do not get any money are the ones people choose the most.

For animals lovers, that means getting into nature friendly activities that they would never have in their normal lives. From taking photos of sea animals in the Alaskan coast to saving cows and pigs, these people are finding that spending their time helping animals is a greater option than visiting unknown places.

There are several places where you can spend a few days, a week or longer giving some help to wild or home animals. In most of these trips people need to participate in cleaning and other activities. Jacob says they return home with more sunburn because they see the difference they can make.

MY TRIP TO BOGOTÁ AND OTHERS

I arrived in Bogota feeling excited and ready to explore a big city. Unfortunately many hours of unstoppable rain didn’t allow me to go out for a while. It rains a lot there; maybe more than in Wales and I never thought that was possible.

First, I decided to visit a museum. I think museums are now more interesting and enjoyable places than before. I visited the gold museum and saw the gold from all over Colombia. Ancient people used to stick little gold pieces to the clothes during religious activities. They never considered it as a valuable metal. I wondered why people love gold and money so much nowadays. It’s nothing special, just a metal. If you die, will you enjoy it?

After that, I went and stayed with a family I met at the museum. They invited me to stay with them in chia. They lived on the land that used to be their parents’ farmer. That’s why they have divided it in smaller parts, which means that they all live close to, next to, opposite or near each other. That is one really close and warm family! The houses are old and badly arranged, built by themselves in different styles, but all beautiful and amazing. To have such a beautiful sense of family was something I had not seen in my whole life.

Finally we went to a restaurant called “El portico”. It’s a huge place with a fantastic view, and the food I ate was great. This was the part I liked the most. Colombian food is magnificent

c) Tell the reader about his trip to Bogotá and Chía c) Everybody likes to live near their family in Chia d) Recommend Colombian museums and food d) Everybody lives next to each other because there’s no space

34) What do we know about the writer’s attitude towards life? 37) Which of these ideas best fits the writer’s opinion a) A place is really boring when it rains a) there is not enough gold in Colombia to build bigger and

b) Other things are more important than money more modern houses

c) Food must always be well prepared b) Colombian people are very kind and like being d) Museums are the best places in the world together with their family

c) More restaurants and houses in Colombia serve very good,

35) What does the writer think about gold? Cheap food

a) ancient cultures used it a lot because of their customs d) Colombian museums are interesting because they keep

b) it will be very valuable when you die gold used in the past c) you can stick it to your clothes in little pieces

d) people should not consider it important

ARE YOU SLEEPING ENOUGH?

Do you know 38 is ‘enough’ regarding sleep time? There first thing about sleeping is there is no magic number. Different people like babies, children and adults 39 different amount of sleep, besides that, sleep needs are 40 individual. Just like any other characteristics you are born with the essential numbers of hours you need to perform well 41 be different from someone else of your same 42 and sex. While you may be at the 43 sleeping seven hours a night, someone else may need more hours to have a 44 productive life.

To decide how 45 sleep your body needs, it is 46 examine the possible daily life issues that are affecting the quality and quantity of your sleep such as the number of hours you spend working or studying and 47 the amount of stress you 48 in your daily life.
