A Word of Jesus: seed of life!

"One that day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake People stood on the shore. And he spoke to them at length in parables." MT, 13.

Today, Jesus told us a similar story. The story of the sower. The story of a seed. Who is the sower? Jesus.

What is the seed sown? God's Word. What is the land sown? The heart.

Jesus spent his whole life planting the love of God, the seed of the kingdom, peace and forgiveness. He sowed all hearts. Today he continues to sow our hearts with His Word through the Holy Spirit and the Church. In this world full of words and commercials, everyone wants to sell something. We must rejoice because Jesus, the sower, does not come to sell anything, do product announcements or offer a fantastic vacation. He comes to plant the seed of love in our hearts. And we rejoice because this seed has given and continues to give fruits of salvation. The Word of Jesus is not a word like yours or mine, it is an effective word of love, a word silence on the cross and showers us with blood. And since then, not everything is bad in the world, there is no absolute dominion of idols.

The fable tells that at a certain city, a shop under the following label said:

"We sell happiness." Customers discovered with amazement that the business owner was an angel. "I seek," said one visitor, "money, love, serenity, health, happiness, and prosperity".

"Excuse me, my friend," answered the angel. "We do not sell processed products here, only seeds."

And it is true: the house of the gospel, the Word, the field that receives the seed is not the head, it is the heart.

We have come not to hear a word, we have come to welcome the Word, to give him lodging in our hearts; We have come to water the dry and hard land of our lives. Here we come Sunday to thank Jesus for the seed planted years ago in our lives.

We come to ask the sower to help us give the good fruits of the responsibility of parents, the fidelity of spouses, the concern of the children, of work well done, love of the church, a faith increasingly more alive and shared.

Greeting and blessings to you from the Holy Land, I have you all in my prayers!

Fr. Andrés Arango

Pastor

Aquí no expendemos productos procesados. Solamente semillas.

Fr. Andrés Arango

Párroco
