Funds are Matched With Catholic Charities’ Angel Fund

Each day at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet we assist individuals and families who need an angel -- veterans who have lost their homes, single mothers who seek warm clothes for their children, and seniors who are forced to choose between paying rent and buying food.

Thankfully, we have found someone who is so special and generous… that he is almost like an angel on earth. This anonymous donor wants to team up with you to continue to help our struggling neighbors. For every dollar you donate, our special angel will match it – up to $50,000. Please be generous. This is an opportunity to help someone who will have nowhere else to turn if Catholic Charities isn’t there to help.

Please send in a donation by May 31st. Make checks payable to:

Catholic Charities Angel Fund 16555 Weber Rd.

Living Stewardship Now

Pause and review how you are loving and serving the Lord in daily life. What do you need to do differently? Are there things you need to do less, or to do more? Are you being called in a new direction?

La corresponsabilidad vivida ahora

Détente a pensar cómo estás amando y

sirviendo a Dios en tu vida diaria. ¿Qué

debes hacer de manera diferente? ¿Hay

cosas que necesites hacer menos o hacer

más? ¿Se te está llamando a un nuevo

camino?

Graders Visit the Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe

During Holy Week on March 28, 2018, the 7th & 8th grade Holy Family Catholic

School students had the privilege of going on a pilgrimage to Marytown- The National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Libertyville, Illinois. Previously the students read the book, Maximilian Kolbe- Saint of Auschwitz and going to the Shrine brought the book to life for all of them. The students toured the Shrine and the Holocaust Museum. They encountered the Shroud of Turin exhibit which brought together multidisciplinary subjects such as

religion, science, social studies, etc. The Shroud bears the image of a man on a linen cloth that is believed to be the burial Shroud of Jesus of Nazareth. The

students attended Mass, and before they departed, they received a blessing with the St. Kolbe relic. What a blessing this pilgrimage was especially during the holiest of weeks- Holy Week!
