(2) Weekly Reflection. Reflexión Semanal. At the beginning of Lent, Pope Francis was very concise for a change in our Lent in his work titled “Because of the increase of iniquity, the love of many will grow cold”. Now I want to reiterate with fewer words that help to experience faith as an answer to God's love. The experience of each one of us has its beginning in the dawn of Easter when a new spring of hope filled the world. Since that day our resurrection has already begun, because Easter does not simply mark a moment in history, but the beginning of a new condition: Jesus is risen not because his memory remains alive in the hearts of his disciples, but because he himself lives in us and in Him we can already taste the joy of eternal life. My desire for all parishioners of our parish, St. Francis of Assisi, is to encourage everyone once again to be attentive, to the sick, the elderly, children, young people, and families that suffer persecution by harmful laws. I wish that we would not deviate from “The Resurrection of Christ” as our hope. The Church today proclaims this with joy: it announces the hope that God has made firm and invincible by raising Jesus Christ from the dead; and communicates the hope, which is carried in His heart which He wants to share with everyone, anywhere, especially where Christians suffer persecution due to their faith and their commitment to justice and peace; it invokes hope capable of enlivening the desire for good, and above all when it matters. Today the Church sings "the day the Lord has acted" and invites joy. Today the Church prays invoking Mary, the Star of Hope, to lead humanity to the safe harbor of salvation, which is the heart of Christ, the Paschal Victim, the Lamb who has "redeemed the world,” the innocent one who has “reconciled us, sinners, to the Father.” To Him, Victorious King, to Him, crucified and risen, we shout with joy our Alleluia!. Happy Easter!!! Fraternally, Fr. Rene Juarez, OFM Pastor. Felices Pascua!!! Fraternalmente: Fr. Rene Juarez, OFM Parroco.

(12) April 1, 2018. Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord. Page 3. PARISH TRANSITION NEWS. DID YOU KNOW?. Please continue to pray for wisdom, insight and the grace to see the real needs of all the people in the parish. (I pleaded and the spirit of wisdom came to me…WIS 7:7) Wisdom cards are available at the entrance of the church on the small table. If you have additional thoughts for any of the Wisdom Cards (Blessings, Strengths and Challenges) please feel free to fill them out and drop them into the box. PLEASE CHECK THE TRANSITION NEWS BOARD FOR ANY UPDATES!. Talk to children about all types of strangers Most children know something about stranger danger, but do they know about friendly strangers? Many predators will use tricks to lure young victims such as asking for help walking a dog, offering candy, or pretending to know their parents. No matter how friendly someone may be, children should know that if they don’t know the person, they should never go anywhere with them. Give kids simple rules: it’s okay to run away from someone you don’t know, and to shout “no!” or “go away!” if a stranger is talking to you or asking you to go anywhere. To view a kid-friendly video on this topic, visit https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY7RhBszp0k.. SFA School News SFA continues to prepare for Jesus’ resurrection in the Lenten season. This past week, the 7th and 8th grade class led the Living Stations of the Cross. As they reenacted the key moments of the Passion, the rest of the student body reflected on Jesus’ suffering, sacrifice, and love for all of us. Last week, all students in 2nd-8th grades grew closer in friendship with God by going to Confession with Fr. Rene, Fr. Sebastian, and Fr. Andres. And before we leave on our Easter vacation next week, the student body will celebrate a Cedar meal as Jesus did during the Last Supper. Online Giving Mobile App is here for iOS and Android!
