2021 ONLINE COURSES – 2

nd

term 2020-2021

Introduction

The online courses offered by the Centro de Linguas Modernas focus on the development of meaningful, student- centred learning and active participation through virtual methods. There are 4 lines of action:

1.

Tutorial action. Individualized tailored tutoring by the teaching staff will provide constant support to sort out queries, guidance in the student’s learning process and motivation so that the students complete the course successfully

.

2. S

tudent’s self-study. Using the materials provided through the virtual lessons, the students will work on the assignments given by the teachers.

3.

Synchronous sessions with a teacher. Videoconference sessions will be held in small groups, specifically designed for the students to practice and improve their oral skills.

4.

Collaborative work

.

G

uided by the teaching staff, the students will also carry out group activities. This will encourage teamwork and interaction between participants. The space granted in each course to each of these elements will be adapted to the requirements and needs of the level.

Course types

The Centro de Linguas Modernas offers two types of courses: 160/320-hour intensive courses and two-month 80- hour semi-intensive courses. Exchange students, USC students and general public can enroll on these courses.

For most courses, it is necessary to take a placement test online beforehand. The B1 320-hour intensive course is designed for students who already have an A1 in Spanish and intend to achieve competences at B1 level. For these students, it is not compulsory to take the placement test, although it is recommended. Students who enroll on the A1 semi-intensive course, beginner's level, do not need to take the placement test.

Once the students know their level, they can register at https://matriculausc.es/Loginx/Logi n.asp
