ANOINTING OF THE SICK
The Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived. (CCC 1514)
If a person is in need of Anointing of the Sick, please call the parish office for a priest at 602-242-1300.
If the parish office is closed and there is an immediate danger of death, please call the after-hours emergency number at 602-246-3534. The after-hours number may only be used for life and death emergencies.

Surprising Things That Happen When You Go to Adoration
The Eucharist is described in the catechism as the ‘source and summit’ of our faith. Finding the time to go to
Adoration can be difficult. But if you can make it happen, committing to regular Adoration with an open heart can have some surprising results.
You develop a sense of awe and wonder - There is nothing like the atmosphere of a quiet chapel or church, the smell of incense and the splendor of the monstrance to help you understand the truth of what is happening in Adoration. We are truly before Jesus Christ, His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. The more you sink into that silence in front of the Host, the more you’ll realize that the only response is awe and wonder at the greatness of our God. You experience peace in other areas of your life - Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.” (John 14:27) The outward peace we can experience in Adoration (the quiet and the stillness) reaches much deeper. It leads to an inner peace that affects all areas of our lives. It doesn’t mean everything in our life will be perfect and without suffering, but Christ’s peace means that we know that the storms of life can’t shake us.
You begin to look outwardly - Jesus told us to “love one another as I have loved you”. (John 13:34) Spending time in Adoration connects us to the whole world – after all, we’re spending time with the Creator of all things! More time praising, and adoring God means you can look beyond your own concerns and see the needs of others in your life and in the world that we live in.
You look forward to going to Adoration - The more time you spend in Adoration discovering that God is a God who loves you and wants to spend time with you, the more you begin to actually want to go. If Adoration once felt like a chore, you might even find yourself becoming excited to go! Adoration is addictive, not just because of the things we can gain for ourselves, but because we were created to adore. As we say in the Mass, it is “right and just” that we should give thanks to the Lord! Adoration is imprinted on our hearts and “our hearts are restless until they find our rest in Him”! (Thanks, St Augustine!)
Grace enters your life - It’s amazing how a simple act of committing to even a short time of regular Adoration makes such a huge difference to the rest of your life. You can carry that moment of being in His presence with you long after you’ve left the church or chapel. His grace sustains you in every moment, especially in moments of temptation. Temptation becomes easier to resist when you’re spending more time in Adoration. Sometimes, it really is that straightforward.
You realize how fortunate you are - If it is as simple for you as getting in the car and driving to Adoration at church, or even walking to the chapel nearby, you realize how much you can take it for granted. There are those who would love to spend more time with Jesus in Adoration but who are housebound, sick or busy parents. Then there are those around the world who risk their lives for the Eucharist, in places where they are persecuted for their faith. When you remember those, who walk for hours or days in dangerous situations to be present with Jesus, you realize what a gift it is to be able to pray openly, not to mention having a priest to minister the sacraments.
You want to go to Confession more - Confession allows us to experience the mighty boundless ocean that is God’s mercy. His mercy swallows up all our sins and gives us a true kind of freedom, a freedom without fear, which allows us to make the leap into His love and goodness, complete with all His perfect plans for our life. Time and time again, going to Confession re-enforces the knowledge that we are jumping into the arms of a father who loves us very much
and “never tires of forgiving us”. (Pope Francis).
You fall in love - When you spend more time with an open heart in Adoration and just let Christ love you, then you’ll fall in love too. That love will define you and allow you to be yourself. “I came that they may have life, life in all its fullness.” (John 10:10)

As we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity we also realize the mystery of how much God loves and cares for us each day. Believing
in this, our lives can then overflow in thanksgiving and praise. Vincentians bring the love of Jesus to our
neighbors by listening to their needs and assisting them with as many of those needs as possible. Praying with our clients is sometimes the best help we can give them. It gives them hope and the knowledge that someone cares.
Food donations may be left in the Parish Office or gift shop.

SMITH HALL
CONSTRUCTION
We would like to thank Shea Homes for awarding SS. Simon & Jude with a
grant to completely upgrade the interior of Smith Hall. Shea Homes has contracted Knipp Construction to
do the work.
The renovation project started the day school ended and it includes: new windows, flooring, paint,
lighting projector screen and sound system. The renovation will be complete in time for the Back-To-School Open House on Sunday, August 5th.
During construction no rooms will be available for groups to meet. Thank you for
your cooperation and understanding.

Greenway). Starts with Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by continental breakfast.
Fr. Zachary of the Mother of God, SOLT, will direct the day. Seen on EWTN, Fr. Zachary is a well-known Retreat Master. He encourages us “Be the saint God created you to be.” His talks will lead on this path.

Cosas Sorprendentes Que Suceden Cuando Vas a la Adoración
La Eucaristía se describe en el catecismo como la 'fuente y cumbre' de nuestra fe. Encontrar el tiempo para ir a Adoración puede ser difícil. Pero si puede lograrlo, comprometerse a una Adoración regular con el corazón abierto puede tener resultados sorprendentes.
Desarrolla una sensación de asombro y maravilla: no hay nada como la atmósfera de una capilla o iglesia silenciosa, el olor a incienso y el esplendor de la custodia para ayudarlo a comprender la verdad de lo que está sucediendo en la Adoración. Estamos verdaderamente ante Jesucristo, Su Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad. Cuanto más te hundes en ese silencio frente a la Hostia, más te darás cuenta de que la única respuesta es asombro y maravilla ante la grandeza de nuestro Dios.
Experimenta paz en otras áreas de su vida - Jesús dijo: "La paz te dejo, mi paz te doy" (Juan 14:27). La paz exterior que podemos experimentar en la Adoración (la tranquilidad y la quietud) alcanza mucho más profundo. Lleva a una paz interior que afecta todas las áreas de nuestras vidas. No significa que todo en nuestra vida será perfecto y sin sufrimiento, pero la paz de Cristo significa que sabemos que las tormentas de la vida no pueden sacudirnos.
Comienzas a mirar hacia afuera: Jesús nos dijo que "amaos unos a otros como te he amado". (Juan 13:34) Pasar tiempo en Adoración nos conecta con todo el mundo. Después de todo, estamos pasando tiempo con el Creador de todas las cosas. Más tiempo para elogiar y adorar a Dios significa que puedes mirar más allá de tus propias
preocupaciones y ver las necesidades de los demás en tu vida y en el mundo en el que vivimos.
Estás deseando ir a la Adoración: cuanto más tiempo pases en Adoración descubriendo que Dios es un Dios que te ama y quiere pasar tiempo contigo, más comenzarás a querer venir. Si alguna vez la adoración se sintió como una tarea ardua, ¡hasta podría llegar a entusiasmarse! La adoración es adictiva, no solo por las cosas que podemos obtener para nosotros mismos, sino porque fuimos creados para adorar. Como decimos en la misa, es "correcto y justo" que demos gracias al Señor. ¡La adoración está impresa en nuestros corazones y "nuestros corazones están inquietos hasta que encuentren nuestro descanso en Él"! (Gracias, San Agustín!)
La gracia entra en tu vida: es sorprendente cómo un simple acto de compromiso incluso en un corto tiempo de adoración regular hace una gran diferencia en el resto de tu vida. Puedes llevar ese momento de estar en Su presencia contigo mucho después de que hayas dejado la iglesia o la capilla. Su gracia te sostiene en cada momento,
especialmente en los momentos de tentación. La tentación se vuelve más fácil de resistir cuando pasas más tiempo en adoración. A veces, realmente es así de simple.
Te das cuenta de lo afortunado que eres. Si para ti es tan sencillo como subirte al automóvil y conducir a la Adoración en la iglesia, o incluso caminar hasta la capilla cercana, te das cuenta de cuánto puedes dar por hecho. Hay quienes les gustaría pasar más tiempo con Jesús en Adoración pero que son confinado en casa, enfermos o padres ocupados. Luego están aquellos en todo el mundo que arriesgan sus vidas por la Eucaristía, en lugares donde son perseguidos por su fe. Cuando recuerdas a aquellos que caminan durante horas o días en situaciones peligrosas para estar presentes con Jesús, te das cuenta de que es un regalo poder orar abiertamente, sin mencionar que tienes un sacerdote para ministrar los sacramentos.
Desea ir más a la confesión: la confesión nos permite experimentar el poderoso e ilimitado océano que es la misericordia de Dios. Su misericordia se traga todos nuestros pecados y nos da un verdadero tipo de libertad, una libertad sin miedo, que nos permite dar el salto en Su amor y bondad, completa con todos Sus planes perfectos para nuestra vida. Una y otra vez, ir a la confesión refuerza el conocimiento de que estamos saltando a los brazos de un padre que nos ama mucho y "nunca se cansa de perdonarnos". (Papa Francisco).
Te enamoras: cuando pasas más tiempo en Adoración con un corazón abierto y dejas que Cristo te ame, entonces también te enamorarás. Ese amor te definirá y te permitirá ser tú mismo. "He venido para que tengan vida, vida en toda su plenitud" (Juan 10:10).

gracias y alabanza. Los Vicentinos traen el amor de Jesús a nuestros vecinos al escuchar sus necesidades y ayudarlos con la mayor cantidad posible de esas necesidades. Orar con nuestros clientes a veces es la mejor ayuda que podemos brindarles. Les da esperanza y el conocimiento de que a alguien le importa. Las donaciones de alimentos pueden dejarse en la oficina parroquial o en la tienda de regalos.
CONSTRUCCIÓN
EN EL SALÓN SMITH
Queremos agradecer a Shea Homes por otorgar SS. Simón & Judas conuna subvención para actualizar completamente el interior de Smith Hall. Shea Homes contrató a Knipp Construction para hacer el trabajo. El proyecto de renovación comenzó el día que terminó la escuela e incluye: nuevas ventanas, pisos, pintura, pantalla de proyección de iluminación y sistema de sonido.
La renovación se completará a tiempo para la Casa Abierta de regreso a clases el domingo 5 de agosto.
Durante la construcción, no habrá salones disponibles para que los grupos se reúnan. Gracias por su cooperación y comprensión.
