Any work that begins with thanking God in Mass ends well. All those who will volunteer or will set-up or will cook on Festival Day, please attend the September 24, Saturday, 5:30 pm Mass. Thank you.

4. HELP SELL RAFFLE TICKETS

Raffle Ticket sales are down a bit this year. If you have not yet picked yours up, or if you can sell extras to family, friends and coworkers, please push them this week! Get extra tickets in the office or the back of the church.

5. SEPT. 19 DEADLINE FOR NEW ITEMS IN VARIOUS BASKETS

Our last day to accept donations of new items for the various themed baskets is on Monday, September 19. Please bring any donations to the office on Monday. between 2 pm and 6 pm. Thank you.

6. KIDS’ PRIZES NEEDED

Don’t forget to bring in prizes for the children’s games. We need all kinds of prizes; big, medium and dollar store size.

7. HELP DISTRIBUTE FLYERS

Take a flyer to work to post; there’s one in your bulletin. Let everyone know about “the best foodie event of the ar-ea.” (Tolosa Press)

8. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SET-UP BEFORE THE FESTIVAL & TO CLEAN-UP AFTER THE FESTIVAL We need people—teens, women, men—who can help set up and break down the booths, etc., at the Festival. The more who volunteer to help, the faster it will go, especially the break-down. That way no one has to stay too long after the Festival ends.

If you would like to offer a Mass for a particular intention, please use one of these envelopes. You can drop them in the collection baskets at each Mass, or bring them to the office on Tues., Wed., or Fri. from 1 to 6 pm. Please submit your Mass intentions several months in advance, if possible, so we can reserve your specific date and Mass time of your choice.

Lord, Jesus Christ, You call us to be Merciful just as our heavenly Father is Merciful.

IS NOT APPROVED BY BISHOP GARCIA There is a devotion called “Devoción a la Preciosisima Sangre de

Nues-tro Senor Jesucristo” (there is a book with this same name). This is

not to be confused with the Divine Mercy devotion.

Bishop Garcia has not approved this “Devoción a la Preciosisima

Sangre de Nuestro Senor Jesucristo” and its book with the same name,

and he does not intend to do so. There are many other devotions that have been approved. This book and devotion has neither a Nihil Obstat nor an Imprimatur from our U.S.A. Conference of Bishops.

If you know somebody who is using such book, please advise them to put an end to this practice as soon as possible. Thank you.
