Fact Sheet - Academic Year 2023/24

Admissions requirements

We welcome applications from candidates currently studying at our exchange partner institutions. Please check our website for the academic areas students can apply for at SHU.

Most exchange opportunities are for level 5 undergraduate programmes and students need to have completed the first year in a related undergraduate degree prior to arrival. Students will need to provide any available academic transcripts. For postgraduate exchanges we require evidence of an appropriate undergraduate qualification.

Students are required to select a minimum credit load of 60 CATS (30 ECTS) per semester.

Alternative modules may be offered to applicants depending on demand for places and timetabling considerations.

Language requirements

If students are coming to study with us for one semester, we will accept confirmation from the partner as part of the nomination process, that the student meets the requirements as set out in our agreement.

Students coming for the full academic year will need to apply for a Student visa and will need to have a Secure English Language Test qualification. You can check the list here - https://www.shu.ac.uk/international/international-experience-team/pre-arrival-and-visa- information/english-language-entry-requirements

Language of study

All teaching and assessment will be in English.

Language development

Academic English development classes will be available to incoming students.
