RESUMEN
La presente investigación evalúa las implicancias del acercamiento de la República Popu- lar China al Perú en asuntos de seguridad y defensa nacional en cuanto compete a la Marina de Guerra del Perú. Analiza a China desde diversos aspectos, especialmente desde el punto de vista económico, diplomático y militar, empleando diferentes fuentes de investigación y diversos autores, relevando el aspecto de la seguridad y defensa desde una óptica internacional para luego centrar el análisis en la relación de China con Perú y sus consecuencias como producto de este acercamiento.
Como resultado de la investigación se encuentran evidencias de la consolidación de China como la primera potencia económica mundial. Asimismo, se demuestra un acercamiento creciente y constante entre China y Perú, desde diversos aspectos. Este acercamiento es positivo para ambos países, en particular desde el punto de vista económico, el mismo que tiene aristas que se vincu- lan a la seguridad y defensa, encontrándose en este aspecto diferentes oportunidades que podrían tener impacto en la Marina de Guerra del Perú como el caso del corredor ferroviario bioceánico y la industria naval de China, teniendo siempre presente la atenta mirada de Estados Unidos como tercera parte con intereses y antiguo aliado de la Marina de Guerra peruana.

ABSTRACT
This research evaluates the approach implications of the Popular Republic of China to Peru on issues of national security and defense related to Peruvian Navy. China is analyzed from various aspects, especially in terms of economic, diplomatic and military issues, for this purpose the use of different sources of research and various authors was mandatory, relieving the aspect of secu- rity and defense from an international perspective and then focus in the analysis of the relations- hip between China and Peru as well as its consequences as a result of this approach.
As a result of the investigation is evident the consolidation of China as the world’s leading economic power. Also, a growing and steady approach between China and Peru is shown from various aspects. At the end, this approach is positive for both countries, especially from the economic point of view and it has edges that are related to security and defense issues, finding in this respect different opportunities that could impact the Peruvian Navy as the bi-oceanic rail corridor and the shipbuilding industry of China, but always bearing in mind the watchful eye of the United States as third party with interests as well as very old friend and ally of the Peruvian Navy.
