The instructions in this manual are not intended to replace the instructions of a healthcare professional regarding the use of the device. However, when the device is not working, not enough fresh air will be provided through the mask and the exhaled air may be reabsorbed. When using oxygen with this system, turn on the device before turning on the oxygen.
If the device is used in a room temperature higher than 35˚ C, the temperature of the air stream may exceed 43˚ C (109˚ F). Do not immerse the device in any liquid or spray it with water or cleaning agents. Do not use the device outside the operating temperature range shown in the Specifications chapter.
Do not place the device in or on a container that can collect or retain water. The device can also provide a single level of pressure known as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure).

Rise time is the time it takes for the device to change from the expiratory pressure setting to the inspiratory pressure setting. Rise time steps or 6 progressively reflect the delayed pressure rise response that will occur at the start of inspiration. Providers should adjust the rise time to find the most comfortable setting for the patient.

Changing the Comfort Settings
The Flex comfort setting allows you to adjust the level of pressure relief you feel during therapy. When your provider activates Flex, a tier will already be set for you on the device. The device is equipped with an optional ramp function that can enable or disable your home caregiver.
This feature reduces the air pressure when you try to fall asleep and then gradually increases the pressure until the prescription parameter is reached, allowing you to fall asleep more soundly. Note: If the ramp function is disabled, nothing will happen when you press the Ramp button. If the ramp is enabled on your device, after you have activated the airflow, you can press the Ramp button on the top of the device.
The Ramp Start pressure setting can be increased or decreased from 4 in increments of 1 to the CPAP setting (if in CPAP therapy mode) or the EPAP setting (for all other therapy modes). Rise time is the time it takes the device to change from EPAP to IPAP. If the rise time is prescribed for you, you can adjust the rise time from 1 to 6 to find the setting that gives you the most comfort.
This feature allows you to choose which language to display on the interface when in "Text Mode". You can also disable (0) text mode, which means the device will show "Icon Mode" on the interface.
System One Humidity Control maintains consistent mask humidity by monitoring and adjusting for changes in room temperature and room humidity. If System One humidity control has been disabled, the classic style of basic temperature controlled heated humidification will be used. Note: The System One humidification setting is only available if the heated tubing has been removed or has been disabled.
Note: The Humidifier option is only available if the heat pipe is removed or disabled. This setting allows you to select the exact size diameter pipe you are using with the device. When using the hot tube, the device will automatically change this setting to the correct tube type (15H) and you will not be able to change it.
Note: If the hot tube is removed, the device will revert to the previous tube type settings. Warning: If you are using the optional Respironics 15mm tubing, the device's tubing type setting must be set to 15. If your device does not have a tubing type setting, you must use the Respironics 22mm tubing selection.
This setting allows you to adjust the level of air pressure relief according to the particular Respironics mask. If your provider has locked the resistor setting, you can view the setting but cannot change it, and the display will show a lock symbol ( ) next to the setting. When using a humidifier, the device can preheat the water tank for up to 30 minutes before starting therapy.
From the device's home screen, highlight Therapy or the icon, then press and hold the control wheel for 5 seconds. During the 30 minute warm-up, you will still be able to use the control wheel to select other menu options from the home screen. If you press the steering wheel while "Therapy" is highlighted or the icon on the home screen, the preheat mode will end and the ventilator will turn on to start the therapy.

Alarm Summary Table
Running This alarm is displayed when the calculated ventilation per minute is less than or equal to the alarm setting. The alarm is triggered when the input power to the device, either from the AC outlet or the battery, falls below the acceptable limit for 10 seconds. If the device is plugged into a wall outlet, unplug the device and then plug it back in.
If using a battery, replace the battery or plug the device into an AC outlet. If the warning continues to occur, replace the SD card or contact your home care provider. Operation This information message will be present for 30 seconds or until the user acknowledges it.
Turn off the airflow and reconnect the humidifier to the unit according to the humidifier's instructions. Turn off the airflow and connect the heated hose to the humidifier according to the humidifier's instructions.

EMC Information
Instructions and Manufacturer's Declaration - Electromagnetic Immunity - This device is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment specified below. The user of this device must ensure that it is used in such an environment. If the user of the device requires continuous operation during a power outage, it is recommended that the device be powered from an uninterruptible power supply or battery.
Portable and portable RF communications equipment should not be used closer to any part of the equipment, including cables, than the recommended separation distance calculated from the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter. The field strength from fixed RF transmitters, as determined by an electromagnetic site survey, must be less than the compliance level in each frequency range.b. To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be considered.
If the measured field strength in the location in which the device is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the device should be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as reorienting or relocating the device. Recommended separation distances between portable and mobile RF communications equipment and this device: The device is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances are controlled.
The customer or user of this equipment can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and this equipment as recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications equipment. For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation distance d in meters (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power value of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.
