It is extremely gratifying for the Heinz Trox Foundation to be able to count on the commitment of the decision makers within the TROX GROUP, when it comes to promoting even more sustainable development on a local and global scale. However, the globalized economy of the last few decades of the 20th century followed a completely different logic. Being one of the world's largest suppliers of air conditioning, ventilation and system technology components and systems means that clean air is an important aspect of our corporate mission.

A thoughtful use of energy, water and materials is firmly linked to our corporate awareness at TROX, and this is reflected in all parts of the organization. The pursuit of achieving the greatest possible degree of sustainability is an integral aspect of the TROX GROUP's corporate development, and a core value of the brand alongside quality, technology and design. We think of the 17 internationally defined sustainable development targets as a commitment to our responsibility as a globally active corporation.

Under the leadership of Udo Jung, CTO of TROX GmbH, a project manager is assigned to each of TROX's six areas of activity. The targeted combination of design principle, insulation, tightness, heat recovery, energy-efficient actuators and intelligent control technology ensure energy saving potential in the double-digit range, also in the TROX X-CUBE series. From the initial design phase, through sizing, to building revitalization, we are considering all stages of the product life cycle in our sustainability assessment.

Studies based on cost-benefit analyzes have shown that even a small increase in the intake air volume gives rise to a significant increase in work productivity.

TROX SKYBEaM – designed with great recycling potential

TROX Certificates

At the TROX plant in Anholt, we have successfully reduced the exposure of our employees to dust in the areas of fire dampers and control equipment through consistent restructuring. In addition, the efficiency of the factory has been improved by optimizing the material flow. Our suppliers are also included in our sustainability assessment of the entire value chain of product creation.

The TROX TPS production system enables us to improve processes and sustainability aspects in all production facilities of the TROX GROUP. It is intended to harmonize the structures and organization of the soon-to-be 19 TROX GROUP production locations around the world, to enable the continuous improvement of production processes and administrative activities and to further promote sustainable development. During the project, we set ourselves the choice of sustainable packaging materials and decided not to use any packaging film.

This is how we put the desire to conserve resources into practice in all parts of the company. In the context of the integrated management system, TROX introduced energy management in line with DIN EN ISO in 2016. We spend approximately 500,000 euros per year to support our staff members in the field of training and education.

Our activities in the TROX field of action, which are dedicated to social affairs, are therefore very targeted and attentive. Currently, our employees stay with the company for an average of 12.7 years, which is an extremely long time. Whether it is the latest trends and developments in the areas of air conditioning, ventilation, fire protection and smoke extraction, ideal installation processes, service and maintenance of our products or a webinar on new standards or effective use of the TROX tools: TROX ACADEMY provides our customers and employees the essential know-how and skills needed to work happily and productively.

Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (German Mechanical Engineering Association), Europe's largest network organization of the mechanical industry. We do not only deal with important business matters, but we present ourselves as part of society and the macro-economy. As a second measure, the Heinz Trox Foundation participated in Earth Hour 2019 from the premises of TROX GmbH in Neukirchen-Vluyn.

From the third floor of the TROX GmbH offices, visitors could watch the lights go out in the surrounding area. We are also dedicated to raising awareness of the value of life and the need to value people more than profits. The core sustainability target in the operational phase is to reduce power consumption and the related CO2 emissions.

In the two office buildings of London's International Quarter that have already been completed, a total of 5,200 SKYBEAMS were installed, creating a comfortable working climate.

The term waste within the meaning of the Recycling Act covers all substances or items that their owner would like, need or throw away. Waste for recovery is any waste that is used, waste that is not used is considered waste for disposal. Internal and external groups of people directly or indirectly affected by all business activities, now or in the future (eg shareholders, suppliers, customers).

The name of the era in which humans became one of the main influencing factors of biological, geological and atmospheric processes on Earth (the last about 30,000 years, accounting for about 3 seconds of Earth's history). The aim to restore what has been destroyed on earth in the past through various measures. Energy consumption is calculated from the moment it is received by the consumer (e.g. diesel from the fuel pump, electricity from the user).

The day on which all the natural resources that the earth can regenerate in one year have been used. The creation of a product or a service does not cause an increase in harmful gases in the atmosphere. A regenerative system in which resource consumption, waste production, emissions and energy waste are minimized by slowing, reducing or closing energy and material cycles.

Overall multi-level process of upstream and downstream connections between companies, from a customer's order to the delivery and payment of the product or service. The effect that greenhouse gases in an atmosphere have on the surface temperature of a planet. Because long-wave radiation cannot penetrate CO2, the heat produced is reflected back to Earth, causing the greenhouse effect.

Sustainability indicator to measure ecosystem demand and natural resources of the earth. The goal is to achieve a balanced development in relation to the environment, economy and social issues.
