The agro industrial pilot plant was designed, under the "ZeroWaste" philosophy, so, the waste that will be generated in the domain was identified, the unit operations that are friendlier to the environment that will intervene in the process were chosen, and a partial waste management plan was elaborated, composed of the stages of minimization, segregation and storage. The pilot plant will have a production of 48 kg per year, aiming to satisfy 0.8% of the national demand projected for the year 2020 of the product essential oil of eucalyptus, taking as a reference the imports of the product to the country Argentina by Peru, in addition, it will be built in a area of 300 m 2 , divided into drying area, size reduction, process, water softening and waste. Finally, an investment of S /.79480 is necessary for the construction and plant start-up.
Thus, we set about implementing ZeroWaste at Puntacana Resort & Club. After seven years, it has become one of the largest recycling programs by any company in the Dominican Republic. We are able to recycle 47 percent of all the waste we produce, reducing significantly the amount of waste we send to the land- fill (no longer operated by Gerom) and reducing our operating costs. With the volume of recyclables we generate, we helped create a market for them in Pun- ta Cana, which has encouraged dozens of hotels to begin recycling. It has also led to the creation of several companies dedicated to recycling and integrated waste management. More importantly, the program, which we share regularly at conferences, during site visits, videos, and through as many media channels as possible, has inspired the formation of a nationwide network dedicated to
La presente memoria de título busca establecer los parámetros base del tratamiento de escoria por la vía “ZeroWaste”, para esto se analizaron los componentes de la misma para generar co-productos de tipo comerciables. La evaluación comercial se realizó en un horizonte de 10 años considerando que se alcanzaban los objetivos y se logran poner en el mercado los productos del proceso. Se consideró una tasa de descuento de 10%, considerando que la planta estará en funcionamiento 350 días/año para la fundición Hernán Videla Lira perteneciente a ENAMI y extensible a otras fundiciones. Finalmente cabe mencionar que las estimaciones de costos se realizaron para un dólar equivalente a 780 pesos chilenos.

McDon- ald in turn sought advice from James Howe, an MIT anthropologist with long experience in Guna Yala, the co-author of this article. The project, dubbed “Basura Cero” (“ZeroWaste”), joined forces with IDIKY, the research and development arm of the Guna General Congress, and with ANCON, a Panamanian NGO com- mitted to environmental sustainability. Accompanied by students, expert advi- sors, and Guna representatives of IDIKY and ANCON, McDonald and Howe paid a series of visits to Carti between 2012 and 2014 to measure household waste output, observe current practices, map the villages using kite-mounted camer- as, observe current economic practices, and assess possible routes for transport- ing recycled materials to the city. At the same time, the team began consulting and collaborating with the four villages and encouraging the formation of local recycling associations.
One of the most intimate ways to understand a city is by looking at how it treats its waste. The relationship between humans and what they cast off goes back to the primitive days when, out of love or fear, men chose to come togeth- er and form societies. The question now is whether modern cosmopolitan cities have reached the stage of maturity nec- essary to confront what they have dis- carded. Will they attempt to transform it into something usable, or pretend it does not exist even as it continues to build up around them?
A novel method for the design of highly miniaturized microwave filters using Epsilon Near Zero — Mu Near Zero behaviors in waveguide technology was presented. Adding the interdigital capacitor to the Epsilon Near Zero tunnel allows us to reduce the number of resonators normally used for passband filter design. In addition, the use of the half mode concept to the proposed structure leads us to a greater miniaturization in comparison with traditional filters. Even more this new methodology can be easily integrated with other planar devices, such as antennas, mixers, amplifiers, etc., which are widely used for communication, radar and image reconstruction systems. Finally to probe the feasibility of this new methodology two-pole and four- pole filters were successfully designed and fabricated, showing good agreement between simulated and experimental results.
Those supermarkets who try their outmost to donate as much of their food waste as possible, or channel it to different locations other than the landfill, still face many obstacles. These obstacles include sanitation and health laws that pose a big problem for food donation. For instance, EU food regulations on the right type fruits or vegetables that can be sold reduce on a big scale the number of vegetables and fruits that make it to grocery stores. Elimination of many of these produce from the market make it difficult for supermarkets to sell them, or further more donate them to food banks or soup kitchens that can consume them. Creating legislation that eases such strict health and quality standards will result in a lower volume of wasted food. In addition, passing legislation that aids organizations that want to donate food, through the removal of liability for their charitable actions, will encourage more supermarket companies in Europe and Spain to donate their goods. Since the biggest concern for companies is acquiring a bad reputation, which they are afraid to get by seeming like they donate unhealthy produce, such legislation would make donations more clear for both supermarkets and consumers. Having both sides that are aware about restrictive legislation and nutritional value of the food will create consumers who are more willing to receive ‘unwanted food’ and supermarkets that are less worried about tarnishing their brand name. multirresistentes (BMR) a antibióticos, el Ministerio de Sanidad, Servicios Sociales e Igualdad junto con La Sociedad Española de Medicina Intensiva, Critica y Unidades Coronarias (SEMICYUC) y Sociedad Española de Enfermería Intensiva y Unidades Coronarias (SEEIUC) se coordinaron para implantar el proyecto Resistencia Zero en las unidades de cuidados intensivos a nivel nacional. Con ello buscaban la reducir en un 20% la tasa de pacientes con una o más BMR de origen nosocomial intra-UCI. Con los datos obtenidos durante doce meses de implantación del proyecto en la UCI del Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid, se analizará la rentabilidad diagnóstica de muestras y factores de riesgo.

El objetivo de este proyecto es el suministro integral de energía a una casa unifamiliar por medio de energías renovables, por esta razón se ha buscado información sobre edificios con un nivel de eficiencia energética muy alto, también llamados Edificio de Consumo Casi Nulo (ECCN) y Zero Energy Building (ZEB). Un edificio de consumo casi nulo está definido por las fuentes más optimistas como un edificio que produce más energía de la que consume, y en otras fuentes más conservadoras como un edificio que tiene un consumo más cercano a la energía que genera. Estos edificios son construidos con materiales altamente aislantes y utilizan electrodomésticos de alta eficiencia, lo mismo ocurre con la climatización y la iluminación. El aporte energético a estos se realiza con fuentes de energía renovables, entre las que se encuentran la energía solar fotovoltaica y la energía eólica como las más utilizadas a día de hoy.
