the operation in advance can know the amount of resources that are going to be necessary, Such as: labor, infrastructure, equipment, among others, and which increase or decrease the installed capacity of CEDI to operate. The resources are requested by the client of the process since the operation is outsourced and the cost of these is assumed by the client of the operation. Thus, erroneous request for resource can represent a significant logistical cost that must be controlled and managed on the basis of predicted units, which once estimated must be constantly measured and controlled. As a result, it is important to lower the percentage of absolute variability by hitting the forecast and a favorable indicator of compliance, as well as having a basic tool for decision making.

Change in the center of the distribution and in the individual scores: relation with heteroskedastic pre- and post-test distributions

Change in the center of the distribution and in the individual scores: relation with heteroskedastic pre- and post-test distributions

For example, Foster, Harrison, Draheim, Redick, and Engle (2017) found a “magnifi cation effect” in a working memory training study: participants with higher initial levels showed larger gains after a 20-session program. In contrast, other researchers have proposed a “compensation effect”: Training strategies have a greater impact on performance when subjects’ baseline performance is low (for a succinct review, see Smoleń, Jastrzebski, Estrada, & Chuderski, 2018). Similarly, in the clinical fi eld, it is reasonable to expect that, when treating individuals who suffer depression, those with less acute levels will show smaller gains because they are closer to the nonclinical population. These individual differences in pre-post change can lead, in turn, to an increase (magnifi cation) or decrease (compensation; Macías, Valero-Aguayo, Bond, & Blanca, 2019) in the distribution’s variability. The available literature provides no information about the relation between average and individual based change in these relevant scenarios.

Proposal for the planning of the demand for the pre-printed forms in the offices of a bank

Proposal for the planning of the demand for the pre-printed forms in the offices of a bank

Palabras Clave: Demanda, Pronósticos, Modelos Cuantitativos, Papelería, Banco, Entidad Bancaria, Sobrecostos, Planeación de la demanda, Ordenes de Pedido. ABSTRACT This article exposes the critical state of paperwork inventories and their negative impact on office costs in a Colombian bank. In the present document, the management of the inventory system of a banking entity was investigated and analyzed and it was found that its demand planning to generate the inventory orders is inefficient in the empirical way as they do it, since the managers in the offices request the stationery order to the Bank Warehouse according to their own estimates.

Virtual Teaching Approach for the Analysis and Planning of Wireless Communications Systems

Virtual Teaching Approach for the Analysis and Planning of Wireless Communications Systems

One of the topics that entail certain complexity of learning on the part of the students is the planning process in systems radio communication and more specifically in the cellular communications systems. The procedures for the design and planning of cellular networks of 2 th generation like GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), they are enough good based and they are used independently, or rather of sequential form, the concepts of traffic (capacity) and propagation (coverage), from which it is possible to establish an initial planning of the structure and disposition of clusters, cells and sectors, a distribution of the available channels and an estimation of the Grade of Service (GoS). Nevertheless, in the mobile systems of third generation (3G) based on the technology WCDMA (Wide Code Multiple Division Access), as the system UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), the coverage and the capacity they are related and interdependent concepts [7].

An agent solution to flexible planning and scheduling of passenger trips

An agent solution to flexible planning and scheduling of passenger trips

Finally, agent-based systems are presented in [5], [10] and [13]. All of them make use of the CNP for the assignment of client’s rides. In addition, [10] uses a stochastic post-optimization phase to improve the result initially obtained. It works in a similar way to the simulated trading. In [13] is presented the Provisional Agreement Protocol (PAP), based on the ECNP and de-commitment. Its improvement is to allow biddings for partial routes and overcomes the Eager Bidder Problem of the CNP, that is, the contractor commits to the bid even though the bid has not been granted and hence cannot make the same bid to another.

Proposal for peruvian standard considering the effect of bidirectionality and the angle of incidence of an earthquake

These effects will be analyzed by using the linear time-history analysis of 11 structures with different rigidities and eccentricities in two orthogonal directions, using angles of incidence each 10 degree and 20 Peruvian seismic records for rigid, intermediate and flexible soils obtained from database of Japan-Peru Center for Earthquake Engineering Research and Disaster Mitigation ( CISMID) and Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP). Furthermore, a non-linear time-history analysis will be carried out, which will be applied to one of the 11 structures and will use angles of incidence each 10 degree and one seismic record. The maximum seismic response will be compared with the maximum modal response spectral analysis obtaining a linear equation. to obtain a propose based on amplification factors.

A flexible mathematical model for the planning and designing of a sporting fixture by considering the assignment of referees

A flexible mathematical model for the planning and designing of a sporting fixture by considering the assignment of referees

Chilean soccer falls into the category of a Double Round Robin Tournament Problem (double RRTP), in which the teams play against each other on 15 dates (Opening Championship) and then repeat the process, this time with the locations inverted (Closure Championship). In order to make the championship more attractive, the teams are divided into four categories (large teams, strong teams, popular teams, and teams from Santiago). The large teams do not play against each other on the first and final dates; the teams do not play more than two consecutive matches either away or at home; the number of matches played away is equal to the number of matches played at home; the teams labeled “small” may play at least once at home against the large teams, in addition to other restrictions. In its most basic form, the RRTP resolves the sport-scheduling problem by comprising teams ( being an even number), that must play against each other 1 times. A total of 1 dates are available for organizing the 1 matches, in which all teams must play one match. Therefore, for every date 1, … , 1 , one must determine which teams will play among themselves and which teams will play at home. If 1 indicates a Single RRTP and if 2 indicates a Double RRTP, the case occurs in which the championship may be either “not mirrored” or “mirrored.” In the second option, the same matches are maintained but the teams which are playing either at home or away are inverted. Each meeting requires four referees, the main referee being the one responsible for naming his assistants. In addition, the fourth referee may be the one who has served before as a referee at the location or any available judge. Constraints are placed on the main referees, including a limit on the number of matches they may direct for each team, a prohibition on serving as referee for a given team on two consecutive matches, a limit on the number of consecutive dates without being assigned during the championship

Routing and scheduling of recharge for electric vehicles

Routing and scheduling of recharge for electric vehicles

We consider that an operation center (OC) coordinates both the transport service and the scheduling of recharge. The transport service consists in an EV fleet that provides a shuttle airport-hotel (SA), which implies to carry passengers from the airport to the hotel. On the other hand, the scheduling of recharge of EVs fleet is planned while the cost is minimized. Thus, the OC assigns routes to EVs to meet the transport demand and also schedules the recharging actions in the available recharging stations (RSs) according to the tariff of energy. In order to coordinate the operation of EVs fleet, the OC is able to communicate with EVs, clients (potential passengers), RSs, and utility (this scenario is shown in Fig. 1). Thus, the OC receives information such as: requests of clients a day ahead, the availability in RSs, EV state of charge, and the tariff of energy from utility. Then, the routes assignment and the scheduling of recharge can be calculated and broadcasted to the EVs. The OC operation steps are described below. First, the determination of routes is explained, then the battery degradation model is presented, and finally the routes assignment and scheduling of recharge problem is formulated.

MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE PROBLEM OF SECONDARY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM PLANNING

MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE PROBLEM OF SECONDARY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM PLANNING

E-mail: {jdgonzalez, ragr, ricardohincapie}@utp.edu.co Abstract: This paper presents a general mathematical model for the problem of planning of secondary distribution systems, which takes into account the location and sizing of secondary feeders and distribution transformers, the cost of repowering existing feeders and transformers, the cost of swing phase, the system operating costs and fixed costs incurred in the relocation of distribution transformers. The restrictions include nodal power balance, the maximum permitted in the capacity of the feeders and transformers, the maximum permissible voltage drop in system nodes and the maximum amount of investment available. The contribution of this paper lies in formulating a mixed integer nonlinear model involving each of the aspects considered by different authors in the literature on this subject, which allows it to be solved using optimization methods and adapted to different circumstances according to the criteria of the engineer in charge of planning the distribution system.

Proposal for the macroscopic analysis of the archaeological ceramics: an approach from the center-east of Argentina

Proposal for the macroscopic analysis of the archaeological ceramics: an approach from the center-east of Argentina

Archaeological pottery presents particular characteristics in each region of Argentina, mainly related to the abundance and preservation of samples; technological, decorative and morphological variability; contextual information associated; among other features. Regional differences, together with various academic and institutional constraints, have also led to a differential development of methodological papers, most of which are based on sets of argentinian Northwest. Although these contributions can be applied to samples from other regions of the country, generally a process of adequacy to local records is necessary. Recently, have been published methodological contributions based on ceramic records from other regions (e.g. Cuyo, Mesopotamia, Pampa, Patagonia). At this scenario, this paper seeks to: provide an overview of available publications to study ceramics and a stage for selecting strategies according to the sample and the research problem; discuss the attributes usually registered at the macroscopic level to infer different aspects of the manufacturing process as a first step in making a guide analysis and highlight the importance of using appropriate categories and analytical units as a fundamental step in any research design.

LOGISTICS DISTRIBUTION CENTER

LOGISTICS DISTRIBUTION CENTER

The purpose of this review article is to transmit accurate and reliable knowledge about the most sensitive and hierarchical areas in relation to distribution centers as a fundamental element in value chains and distribution strategies of logistics schemes applicable in the economy of scale in which the world economy is oriented, where the optimization of resources and the reasonable use of knowledge are setting a trend that aims to provide a higher level of service to customers throughout the chain with the same resources used and by effect a greater benefit or performance over time. Within the themes addressed in the present, two aspects are focused; in the first instance, the distribution centers and their evolution through logistic development, and secondly, the possible future trends in relation to the distribution centers and how they can be inserted in the revolution of the knowledge economy or fourth industrial revolution. The orientation of the research is of a descriptive type and the analysis will be done transversally and longitudinally to the horizon of knowledge in the subject, and its results or research conclusions are a fundamental input to future research whose objective is to explore the state of the art of central theme of this process of reviewing the frontier of knowledge.

A Teaching proposal for the study of eigenvectors and eigenvalues

A Teaching proposal for the study of eigenvectors and eigenvalues

Therefore, with the help of the GeoGebra software, the numerical calculations in the symbolic world are replaced by a geometrical interpretation of the problem in the embodied world of mathematics. Later, the professor asks the students the following question: “What particularity do the vectors that give the directions of minimum and maximum moments of inertia have?". Making use of the dragging mode, it is shown that unitary vectors are mapped drawing an ellipse and that the maximum and the minimum M are attained when the unitary vectors coincide with the directional vectors of the axes of the ellipse. Moreover, these vectors v maintain the same direction as Av, with α = 0, and the moments of inertia associated to them are equal to ‖Av ‖ . At this point, the instructor gives the formal definition of an eigenvector and an eigenvalue:

State of the Art of Information Literacy in Spanish University Libraries and a Proposal for the Future

Abstract. The design of new curricula, as a result of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and new teaching methodology has meant an opportunity to overcome traditional training provided by Spanish University Libraries (SUL). The aim of this paper is to report the state of affairs of training in information management competency over the past three years in Spanish University Libraries and to present the role of REBIUN (Spanish University Library Network). For this purpose, a diagnosis of the current situation has been carried out. This will enable us to have a vision of the practices as well as of the consolidation level of the different training models on Information Competency (IC) and Computing Competency and Information Skills (IC2), taking into account good practices of a number of reference and cutting-edge libraries within the Spanish panorama.

State of the Art for the Optimization and Simulation of the Distribution of Hydrocarbons

State of the Art for the Optimization and Simulation of the Distribution of Hydrocarbons

This state of the art shows the two main areas of research into the solution of problems involved with natural gas networks and hydrocarbon networks, in general. About optimization, models have been identified that, in their majority, are Mixed Integer Non-Linear Programming and the solution methods can be exact, using software such as CPLEX, among others, and heuristic methods particularly genetic, neural network and ant colony algorithms. The model varies depending on what the objective of the optimization is. Some articles only mention network optimization in respect of whether the flow being transported is gas or oil. Other articles consider the power, energy and fuel that are being consumed, either as the aim or as constraints of the model. Articles were also found that seek to optimize inventory and transport and production costs. Some others consider multi- objective optimization and use the right software for it.
