The use of jclic in the english teaching-learning process

The use of free software applications is being imposed as compared to those developed by companies in the sector, which are more attractive but also more expensive. A good alternative in the teaching process at primary schools may be the use of new and free technologies. Among these new technologies JCLIC deserves particular attention since it is an application developed by and with teachers and whose interest in the educational world has been important in the last decade. These new technologies such as JClic are within reach for the majority of the population and they can be an extra motivation for the children. Ignoring the ongoing debate within the education community about whether the integration of ICT in the teaching process is positive or not, we would like to focus our work on the validity of applying JCLIC as a tool to facilitate learning in the area of English language teaching. Previously, we will make a tour of theories or issues that are reIated to JClic and Education field that we have thought convenient to analyze.

management is the process of working with and through people to accomplish organizational goals. Management deals with the establishment of rules and regulations as well as planning activities that aim at fulfilling the objectives of a particular organization. This condition refers to the most exhilarating quality that a person can show to another and that is none other than the unconditional positive regard. This is reflected in the continuing messages, verbal and nonverbal, that teachers send their students. Sometimes by mistake more often this lack of consideration and the belief that student has to do something to earn it. However, on other occasions it has been proven howpowerful mutual acceptance and tolerance of individual differences in the relations between teachers and students can be.

Yassaei (2012) says: “integrating videos into lessons creates enticing visuals and a special interactive environment in the EFL/ESL class- room. Teaching English through videos also allows teachers to be creative when designing language lessons” (p. 13). Teachers can use a video for many activities, the students can focus their attention in show that they really like, can train their listening, improve pronunciation as well, on their part, stu- dents can give opinions, create a possible ending of a short film, and create comics about the video.

Analyze the influence of the use of ict in the motivation of the learning process of a foreign language.

With the rapid development of technology, the English language has become even more popular since the Internet, television, cinema and the scientific world show it as the language of world acceptance. Therefore, the most developed societies require a greater number of qualified people who understand the English language" López Gómez (2013) In the process of acquiring a second language, ICTs could be used to enrich and encourage each of the above-mentioned approaches, so, "most students have lived with them naturally, have grown up in many areas of their daily lives and have now adopted them in their educational work, although they must integrate them properly into their learning processes if they want to develop communication skills or abilities" (López, 2007). It is for this reason that from school, English should be given great relevance, included within the areas of the curriculum, arouse interest on the part of children and get them involved in the learning of this language using ICTs.

On the other hand, Ferlazzo & Sypnieski (2012) insist that students from different levels of proficiency can be an advantage for working in class. The authors believe that students of a low level of English will feel obligated to catch up to the others of higher levels which can result in quicker learning. The authors mentioned above, say that when working in activities, teachers can make groups of students from high and low levels to encourage interaction. Besides these students can support each other in different skills, for example, one could be better at reading and another at writing in English. Consequently, teachers can work effectively with students from different levels of proficiency.

On the other hand, Total Physical Respond developed by Asher (1977) pointed out that children before they speak do a lot of listening accompanied by physical responses. He relates speech and action, teaches language through physical (motor) activity that came from the right-brain function preceded by the left-brain language processing. Asher in this method creates a positive mood in the classroom among the learners in order to facilitate learning and to reduce the stress through students. But unfortunately like other method had its limitations in reading and writing activities, for this reason ‘The Natural Approach’ came about.

Speaking skill is the productive skill in the oral mode. Like the other skill, speaking is more complicated that seems at first and involves more than just pronouncing words. There are five components of speaking skill that can be defined as follows: pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. To be a good speaker the English learners have to master all of the components. However, besides those linguistic components above there are many factors that influence speaking ability. Cooperative learning method can be an appropriate method to use in teaching learning process to improve students speaking skill. Cooperative learning method has several techniques that stimulate the student to make verbal interaction with the other member of the class. Cooperative learning method is a method that divides the class member to several groups and arranges the students to work in a group. This method is useful to encourage the students’ activeness and responsibility to their own self and their team members. (Darsini, 2013)

Other authors consider important to arrange the seats according to the activity planned for the lesson. Harmer (2007) suggests: the orderly rows as a good choice at the time of explaining a grammar point, watching a video or a power point, as well as to help students to keep eye contact and express body movements; another includes students seating in groups on separated tables and teacher walking around the tables which help students to enable positive academic and behavioral outcomes; and finally, horseshoe and circle seating to give a potential opportunity to students to share feelings and information through talking, eye contact or expressive body movements (eyebrow-raising, shoulder-shrugging, etc.)

Some of the reasons that teachers gave for having a preference for small classes were that this allows them working with the students individually and in a personalized way, giving feedback, correcting errors, and motivating them. Other important reasons given were that with smaller numbers it is possible to carry out certain types of group activities and some of the teachers simply stated that this allowed them to teach better. This information given was corroborated in the classes that were observed because in small classes it was easier to control discipline, assess the students, and give them feedback individually. On the contrary, in the classes with big number of students occurred the opposite just as Hayes (1997) states that English teachers think that large classes hinder them from teaching efficiently

An important part of managing learning is giving instructions. Nunan (1996) mentions that giving instructions clearly is a vital skill for all teachers. In an English classroom where the teacher provides the directions in the target language, clear instructions are critical because students might get confused easily if the directions are unclear. The way teachers give instructions to the pupils will affect their individual or group performance directly, if the teacher is clear students will likely perform the task in the way he or she asked, but if the teacher is not clear, students will waste time trying to guess what their teacher wants.

The influence of large classes in the English language teaching – learning process in Ecuadorian high schools.

The above-cited authors have all emphasized on the frequent and long-felt problems of large classes. In this sense, each has framed solutions to the problem from a different point of view. Though any of the suggested solutions do not encompass the three aspects might be achieved for the good of large classes. Naturally, problems will not disappear once of a sudden, but teachers and students will be benefited from these solutions in a gradual way as much as possible. Therefore, the studies that come up will support our thesis statement at the time that they prove that each of the recommended solutions make an evidence that they are efficient and workable enough, which constitutes a must and a challenge for the class actors to try them all.

There are many researchers and debaters about class size reductions who are skeptic when demonstrating the evidence for efficiency and educational improvement standards. Blatchford (2003) supports the idea that there is trouble when the number of students goes over 30. One of the best things in education is to have smaller classes which allow for a better quality of teaching and learning. Furthermore, (Jerner & Loomis, 2007, p. 1, 2, 3) assert “ Smaller class sizes enable teachers to spend the t ime and energy needed to help each child succeed and enhance safety and discipline in the classroom”. Although research tends to support the belief that small classes give optimal effects, not all studies on the subject reflect this affirmation; working in small-class- settings is not necessarily a synonym for increasing learning.

The method used for this research was quantitative and the student´s questionnaire was used for this analysis; here the results were tabulated and statistically organized by graphics. In addition, the information was converted into percentages for easier analysis of the three different sections, during the analysis of the information obtained from the questionnaires; these were different aspects to consider. The first aspect was the purpose of study. The second aspect to remember was which section was being worked with (academic, social or psychological), finally, any radical variation or conflicting data needed to be analyzed with scrutiny to understand its correlation to the whole.
