Decree 155 of 2003 and resolución 240 of 2004 were approved by the Ministry ofthe Environment to develop article 42 of law 99 of 1993. According to Decree 155 of 2003 and to Resolución 240 of 2004 issued by the Ministry ofthe Environment, the minimum price for a cubic meter ofwater in Colombia is Col $ 0.5 and the maximum is Col $ 3.5 pesos. This maximum fee represents 2.75% ofthewater fee that the CAR had been charging forwater coming from the Teusacá River up until 2003. It represents about 1.5% of what DAMA had been charging fortheuseof underground water resources. This new fee approved by resolución 240 of 2004 is between a hundredth and a thousandth ofthe marginal value ofwaterforthe industrial sector of Colombia 47 ; it corresponds to 1.5% and 6.5% ofthe marginal contribution ofwater to the production of potatoes and peas in one municipality ofthe Bogotá Savanna 48 . The new lower water fees could be attributed to the wide representation ofthe regulated sector in the process that led to the approval ofthe new regulations, and to the absence of other relevant stakeholders such as NGO’s and communities. Quantitative studies relative to the social value ofwater were not used by the Ministry ofthe Environment to determine the price ofwater. Presently the Regional Autonomous Corporation - CAR, is doubtful that the collection ofthe new water fees can be justifiable from a financial point of view 49 .
amount of fuel present in a unit of area in a quick, practical and simple way, known as the Forest Fuel Evaluation System (SICCO, Spanish acronym), whose foundational methodology for taking stock of forest fuels is based on planar intersections. The new version of SICCO allows dynamic updates of information regarding the specific gravity, apparent density and mean square diameter using relational databases. It has libraries that extract this information from databases contained within the system itself using the location coordinates ofthestudy areas. Likewise, the users can customize these values according to their specific needs. SICCO makes it possible to estimate forest fuel loads in a simple, transparent way. Thus, the users focus their efforts more on thequalityofthe collected data than on theuseofthe equations and processes required forthe estimation ofthe weights per unit of area.
These standards, although the compliance with this is a voluntary commitment, are followed by most ofthe manufacturers and importers of products to prevent complaints from the consumer due to the defects ofthe product after selling. Once identified this new specific mechanism that provokes burns in children and esta- blished the minimum quality standards for providing more security in theuseof these heating elements, it was considered convenient to know the variance of its impact in time and its characteristics. Considering the exposed backgrounds, it was established, as the aim ofthestudy, to determine the impact of preventing and quality certification measures of hot water bottles in burns caused by the tearing ofthe product in children.
Forthe normal life and health ofthe population of each country becomes important at the present time, thequality and ecological assessment ofwater. Water is essential for normal physiological processes ofthe body. Due to the need to identify specific physico-chemical parameters ofwater and to carry out a comprehensive assessment ofthe state of drinking water in Absheron region in Azerbaijan, as research object was chosen the Ceyranbatan reservoir. Thestudy was conducted to evaluate the chemical composition, as well as its compliance with drinking waterquality standards.
For many centuries, the provision of good qualitywater has been a determining factor for both subsistence and the society economy (Qu et al., 2013). Nevertheless, although the percent of freshwater available is low (0.5%), their unsuitable use and the detriment ofthewater qual- ity is a common phenomenon around the world (CONAGUA, 2016; Sun et al., 2017). Water pollution depicts one ofthe most alarming environmental problems in the contemporary world (Pulido-Bosch, 2007; Hernández-Flores et al., 2017). In many countries, particularly those with emerging economies, anthropogenic activities related to population growth, industrial development, mining, the excessive useof fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides makes thewater unusable for any human activity (Cifuentes et al., 1994; Literathy, 1996; Gómez- Álvarez et al., 2004; Sjömander Magnusson and van der Merwe, 2005; Gordillo-Martínez et al., 2010; Lu, 2011).
respectively. The correlation capabilities of 20 topological indices were tested forthe case of standard heat formation and normal boiling points ofthe octane isomers. It is remarkable that the second generalized Zagreb index M 2 α with the exponent α = −1 (and at a lesser extent with the exponent α = −2) has a significantly better performance than the Randic’ index (R = M 2 −1/2 ). The second Zagreb variable index is used in the modeling of boiling points of benzenoid hydrocarbon structure. Many properties and relationships of these indices are discussed in several documents ().
- Serum/sérum: This item is only recorded in Rodríguez González (2017: 884), being defined as “cosmético con textura en forma de gel que se aplica a la cara para hidratar, tensar y dar brillo a la piel”. He also explains that “El término es bien acogido en el campo de la cosmética en detrimento de su equivalente español suero, tan ligado al ámbito de la medicina” (2017: 884). The recommended term suero is only used by Farma Dorsch. Nevertheless, this meaning has not been found in any ofthe lexicographical English works consulted as part of this study. After expanding our search, two different English sources record this item: the Merriam Webster Dictionary defines serum as “a usually lightweight cosmetic preparation especially foruse on the face; specifically: a typically water-based, often concentrated preparation that lacks lubricating and thickening agents”; and an article about skin care products provides information about theuseofthe product since mid 1990s and how the term comes from professional cosmetology. 17 As a consequence, this term should be considered an Anglicism.
for NDF were greater than 0.85 and 2.6, respec- tively, in the calibration set (Table 1). Finally, it was not possible to obtain adequate prediction models for WSC. This may be a consequence ofthe high water content ofthe fresh pastures. Thewater absorption bands in the NIRS spectral data are strong and can limit the detection capacity of other constituents (Thyholt and Isaksson, 1997). The predictive ability of these models can be explained in part by the low standard error ofthe laboratory given that the reference data were obtained by gravimetric and chemical analysis, techniques that present high precision in com- parison to that of other techniques that include biological elements (Ibañez and Alomar, 2008). The error of calibration for DM was lower than that obtained by Alomar et al. (2009), who re- ported values of standard error of cross valida- tion (SECV) of 7.5, although in their study they obtained higher coefficients of determination and RPD values (0.98 and 7.15, respectively). The calibration model error obtained for CP was lower than that found by Gislum et al. (2004) in red fescue and perennial ryegrass and by Lobos- Ortega et al. (2013) and Alomar et al. (2009) in dry and fresh permanent pastures, respectively.
There has been a revolution in the translator´s professional work because of Internet, which has opened up highways of communication and information retrieval. For example: the translator can get spellchecking and grammatical usage support from the functionalities included in his favorite word processor or use dictionaries and encyclopedias. When we use Internet, we can also consult mono-, bi- and multi- lingual dictionaries, machine translation programs and all kinds of reference archives or consult text corpora, for instance, to find the technical phraseology (collocations) that we do not usually see in terminological dictionaries. The translator´s work has become easier, on the one hand, thanks to web sites hosted by individuals and institutions, ranging from universities to international organizations and associations, which have become a way to access specialized glossaries, electronic dictionaries and reference. Now the problem is not finding a piece of information, but finding the right and reliable piece of information without wasting too much time.
a policy window opens according to Kingdom (2003). Rare opportunities like these offer regulatory bodies the opportunity to review regulations, examine trends, and make recom- mendations for new policies that can strength- en health systems and their human resources (Hafner & Schiffman, 2012; Xavier et al, 2012; Kingdon, 2003). First in 1943, after extensive preparation, the IAIA sent Mary Elizabeth Tennant to Brazil to assess where to direct in- vestments in professional infrastructure devel- opment for nursing. At the time, Adhemar de Barros, the Governor ofthe State of Sao Paulo and physician, requested a formal report that would describe in detail the conditions forthe organization and development of nursing education in São Paulo. In this commissioned report, Tennant focused on the need for more nurses in São Paulo, as part ofthe previous agreement between Rockefeller and the Medi- cal School and the Hygiene Institute. Ten- nant’s report focused on the “…urgent need for registered nurses in hospitals”. Her report also encouraged the creation of a School of Nurs- ing with a minimum of 150 students (Campos, 2008). The report urged the Ministry of Edu- cation and Health to supervise the creation of nursing schools across the country and to be responsible for organizing the four schools in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Sao Paulo and Belem. This geographic distribution ensured that the country’s population centers would be able to produce nurses to meet local needs and then promote fair regional distribution of nurses. Tennant’s report advised the organization and the direction of these four new nursing pro- grams through the SESP. The USP School was the direct result of Tennant’s report.
The direction "State and Municipal Management" provides students with the opportunity to gain economic and managerial knowledge, professional and administrative skills, allowing them to plan and coordinate the activities ofthe organization and its employees both in Russia and abroad. This direction in the university focuses on multi disciplinarily, practice-oriented and international cooperation. Thus, future civil servants need in- depth knowledge of a foreign language, features, and traditions of different countries. The main directions of modernization of foreign language teaching are related to theuseofthe main types of communicative lexical exercises forthe development of students' speech productivity. The main task ofthe teacher is to improve theuseof types of communication exercises in practical classes, identify the conditions for improving thequalityof learning and verbal productivity.
“In Florida we have a very water-dependent, sensitive environment where small changes in waterquality can make huge changes in biological integrity,” said [John] Hankinson [a former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator], who thinks the state’s ongoing water challenges are more pressing than residual harm from the 3-year- old oil spill. “The Indian River Lagoon is a great example,” he said. “We’ve spent millions of dollars in the lagoon to deal with nutrient pollution, resulting in great improvement in the health ofthe seagrasses and fisheries. Then bam! Out of nowhere comes this algae ‘superbloom,’ which has decimated the seagrass beds. “It’s left everybody thinking, ‘Wow, we worked so hard on this, and this is the result we get?’’’
The number of symptoms experienced during 24 hours may indirectly represent visceral hypersensitivi- ty, hypervigilance and psychosocial characteristics. We expected a two-tailed distribution of symptoms. We believed that patients who reported a small number of symptoms during pHmonitoring had a lower chance to have GERD, since the disease presents with burden- some symptoms leading to a low qualityof life compa- rable to diabetes and hypertension especially consider- ing that patients had to stop medication to undergo the test. 10 Our results oppositely showed a higher number
In Tóibín’s novel, the Crucifixion scene acquires a whole new meaning. Disguised with her companions among the crowd, Mary witnesses with horror her son’s procession carrying the Cross, his face all bloody and the crown of thorns pushing into his forehead. On the hill, she is horrified when she hears Jesus’s howls of pain. Paralysed by terror, Mary and her companions remain still and silent, aware that they could also receive a similar punishment. When she notices that they are being singled out, Mary herself insists that they must escape. Guilt consumes the mother as she confesses that “perhaps I was right to save myself when I could. But it does not feel like that now and it never has. But I will say it now because it has to be said by someone once: I did it to save myself” (85). In contrast to the religious figure ofthe Holy Mother that all believers turn to when they are in despair, Tóibín’s depiction of Mary offers no romanticism, no consolation, no final and comforting union, no self-sacrificing mother. Years later, the sheer violence ofthe Crucifixion still preys on Mary’s mind. Surprisingly, she also reveals that “despite the pain that I felt, a pain that has never lifted, and will go with me into the grave, despite all of this, the pain was his and not mine” (84). Indeed, a recurring image in Christian art is that of statues and pictures of a weeping Virgin holding a mortally wounded Jesus in her arms, the human mother and the divine son united in total suffering. In the case of Tóibín’s narrative, her pain is no longer a mere symbol, an artistic cliché, a means to show a pure heart or a communion with God. Mary’s pain, filled with remorse and regret, is private and uniquely her own.
The FDA’s SCoP analysis was made public in April 2009 and the journal publication appeared 18 months later in November 2010. Sertindole’s manufacturer funded the published SCoP trial but it is not known if the SCoP authors where aware ofthe FDA sudden cardiac death analysis at the time their manuscript was being prepared. Nevertheless, briefing documents have been posted on the FDA’s Web site since 2000 and are indexed in Iowa Drug Information Service (IDIS) from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy (http://itsnt14.its.uiowa.edu).
