Good day. Brevard County Fire Rescue, working in alliance with Brevard Public Schools and Eastern Florida State College, is looking for a few good people

lf you are receiving this letter, it is because you haveexpressed interest in being considered as a recipient for the Brevard County Fire Rescue Recruit Scholarship.
The scholarship would provide you funding to attend the Eastern Florida State College Fire and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Academies. This training would provide you with the minimum training required by the State of Florida to test for and attain the State of Florida Certificate of Compliance in Firefighting and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certifications. Once those two State of Florida
certifications are successfully attained by you, you will then enter into employment with Brevard County Fire Rescue where you will begin by attending the New Hire Academy as a Firefighter/EMT.
There will be a selection process to receive a scholarship. The following criteria must be met to be considered for selection:

Candidate must be 18 years of age prior to registration with EMT/Fire Academyr
Candidate must have maintained a 2.5 GPA and will receive a High School Diplomao
Be of good moral charactero
Have a record clear of misdemeanors and felonieso
Candidate must possess a valid Florida Drive/s Licenseo
Be a non-user of tobacco products one year immediately preceding application for scholarshipo
Undergo and pass a medical physicalexaminationThe following tasks must be met by the candidate to be considered for selection:

Complete a Physical Ability Test (PAT)o
Complete a 500-word essay, introducing yourself, your accomplishments, and why you should be selected for this opportunity to work in the best profession in the world. Must be APA formato
Provide written recommendations from at least three sources who are not familyo
Complete an interview for a panel of Brevard County Fire Rescue Fire OfficersThis is a fantastic opportunity to train, work, and serve within the very community that you live.
