GRADE DETERMINATION POLICY

High school students are ranked in the class according to their grade point average, with the student with the highest grade point average being the first in the class. Middle and high school students are awarded an honor roll at the end of each final assessment period for excellent academic achievement.

FAILURE NOTIFICATION

GPA is determined by adding the points earned and dividing that sum by the total number of credits of the courses taken. Each year's graduating Valedictorian and Salutatorian class is determined by the Governing Council after a review of the academic performance of eligible students.

STUDENT ASSESSMENT (TESTING) IN THE VALLEY VIEW PUBLIC SCHOOLS

At each grade level, students are assessed in the fundamental learning areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical development and health, and fine arts. These assessments are used to monitor the growth of the student's academic performance as it relates to Illinois learning standards.

DISTRICT 365U RETENTION GUIDELINES

Quizzes, projects, anecdotal records, and tests may also be used periodically to provide teachers with information about a student's progress and overall achievement in the classroom. If you have any questions about the district testing program, please contact your local school for more information.

NCAA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Assessments are administered throughout the school year and include the use of publishers' tests, locally developed standards-based assessments, teacher observations, essay tests, and performance-based assessments and checklists.
