he Town of Truckee is a dynamic organization committed to implementing innovative solu- tions to address community priorities. Truckee Town Council’s adopted priorities include enhanc- ing communication and public outreach to facilitate community cohesion. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager is a new position that will play a critical role in developing and imple- menting strategies and programs to address this priority, fostering inclusivity and supporting equity within Town services and throughout the communi- ty.

This position will span both strategy and imple- mentation. Over the next year, the Program Man- ager will lead the development of the Town’s first Diversity Equity and Inclusion Action Plan. The in- cumbent will identify, develop, deploy, and evalu- ate effective and creative strategies to engage segments of the community that are historically underrepresented through public meetings and Town programs, including seniors, youth, veterans, Latinx, low-income, disabled, and LGBTQIA+

community members.

C O M P E N S A T I O N & B E N E F I T S :

he salary for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager position is $6,219- $11,255 per month. Additional benefits include:

CalPERS: New PERS members =2.0%@62; or

"Classic" PERS members without a break in ser- vice of 6 months or more = 2.5%@55

Town contribution to Health, Dental, Vision, and Group Life Insurance

Deferred Compensation 457 Plan: Up to $2,000 annual Town match

Tuition reimbursement

Retirement Health Savings Plan: 2% base pay

Vacation Leave: 80 hours per year accrual

Administrative Leave: 80 hours per fiscal year

Sick Leave: 96 hours per year accrual

Holidays: 13 paid

Pay for performance program

H O W T O A P P L Y :

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with coursework in pubic or business administration, sociology, psychology, human resources, or a directly related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience performing DEI program and/or policy plan- ning and evaluation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate understanding of, sen- sitivity to, and respect for the diverse socio-economic, racial, eth- nic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, diverse abilities, gender, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation of Town staff and the communities served. Experience developing and im- plementing goals, objectives, practices, policies and procedures related to diversity equity and inclusion is preferred as is a strong track record in establishing meaningful and impactful relationships with a diverse group of people. Someone who practices listening with intent to understand, creativity, empathy and kindness.

We seek a candidate with exceptional community engagement and English language verbal and written communication skills. Verbal and written Spanish language skills are also desired. The suc- cessful candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about inclu- sion, enjoy building positive, collaborative relationships with other

Town departments, community partners, and members of the public from across all sectors of the communi- ty to address important community priorities.
