pathway of Sun and Moon and they are not having any physical body which can
be seen through a telescope as we can see all the other planets. This is the reason why they are called shadowy planets without having any own sign in the Zodiac.
3. In the KP Readers, only Hindu aspects are practically and effectively applied in solving the examples, except some minor applications of Western aspects here and there. Moreo- ver the significator by aspect/ conjunction is the last resort of rank E weak significator after A to D rank significators. And only those planets aspected by A to D significators are to be taken into consideration as rank E significator.

4. If all Hindu and Western aspects are taken into consideration, most planets can be the significator of almost all houses. Another problem is how to reconcile the “good and bad” or “favorable and adverse” Western aspects with the KP significators by occupation and lordship at the planet, star and sub levels.
5. The idea of closer conjunction or aspect, its effect becoming stronger can be applied by using Hindu aspects with (Western practice of) orb. Such way is applied in the 4 step theo- ry with basic orb 3° N 20′.
Different Views Regarding the Aspects of Rahu and Ketu
6. The aspects of Rahu/Ketu are not mentioned or applied in the KP Readers. Considera- tion of the aspects of Rahu/Ketu are rarely found in the K.P. & Astrology Year Book, 1996, p 72; 1999, p 26, and 2002, pp 82 & 84.
7. Ernst Wilhelm has said in his “Vault of the Heavens: Treatise on Vedic Astrology”, Käla Occult Publishers, 2001, p 196 that there are different views regarding the aspects of Ra- hu and Ketu. Some do not consider them to have any aspect at all. Those who do consider Rahu and Ketu to have aspects, generally consider them to aspect the 5th, 7th and 9th with full strength, similar to Jupiter's aspect. However, none of the astrological treatises
ascribed to any of the rishis gives aspects to Rahu and Ketu. He believes that due to a fac-
tor called Argala, which exerts a type of influence on a planet, Rahu and Ketu have mis- takenly been thought to aspect the 5th and 9th places from them. Argala is not a com- monly used, nor a commonly understood factor in astrology. His belief is that Rahu and Ketu do exert an influence onto the 5th and 9th places from them, but through Argala, not
through aspect. An aspect influences a planet directly due to the aspecting planet’s na- ture, its colors what it aspects accordingly. Rahu and Ketu influencing the 5th and 9th do not do this. I have found that trying to use planetary aspects for Rahu and Ketu will be misleading and a source of confusion when making predictions. Wendy Wasicek says that Maharishi Parashara is quite specific about the planets’ aspects but nowhere does he at- tributes any (specific) aspect to the nodes.

8. Dr. P. S. Sastri has said in his notes in “Uttara Kalamrita Kalidasa”, Ranjan Publica- tions, 2001, page 43 that according to Parasara, Rahu aspects 5, 7, 9, and 12 fully. James Braha has changed his view on nodal aspects in "The Art & Practice of Ancient Hindu As- trology", Hermetician Pr, 2001, p 388, by saying that after years of research he found that sage Parasara was correct and the aspects should be noticed, although most Indian astrol-
on 5 and 9, or whether they are by Rashi drishti. Other references given by some are: BPHS (Khemraj-Shrikrishndas- edition) in chapter 47,verse 26, says: SUT-MADAN-NAV-ANTE POORN DRISHTIM TAMASYA YUGAL-DASHAM GEHE CH ARDH DRISHTIM VADANTI SA- HAJ-RIPU VIPASHYAN PAD DRISHTI, meaning Rahu and Ketu have full aspect on 5-7-9- 12; Jatak-Parijat ch. 2 verse 32 says Rahu's aspect is downward, confirming Rahu has as- pect. But the references themselves do not agree upon the results. Even Varahamihira did not exclusively touch Rahu/ Ketu in his classic Brihat Jataka. Rahu's aspect has not been mentioned also in Kalyana Varmas Saravali.
Question - 5: Elimination of Significators
On page 28 of " Nakshatra Chintamani " by Shri Chandrakant R. Bhatt, I got a problem and I request an advice from you.
I refer to the page 28 of the above book where the Longevity of Native's Mother is discussed. In elimination of significators it states that "As Sun's sub lord Saturn occupies the 1st house of the mother omit it "
But sub lord of the Venus is also Saturn. Saturn occupies the 1st house of the mother. My question is why Venus is not omitted. Sub lord of both Sun and Venus is Saturn and it occupies 1st house of mother. What is the reason for not omitting Venus?
Answer – 5:
1. Example Birth Horoscope No. 1: Male, 7-7-1912, Sunday, 8-42 P.M. I.S.T., 23° N 2′ , 72 E 35
2. By rotating the chart to 4th cusp as Ascendant cusp for mother,
Sun and Venus are in the same star Jupiter and same sub Saturn.
Sun (3,5); - - , is in the star of Jupiter (7,12-9), and sub of Saturn (1,10-11). Venus (3,2-7), is in the star of Jupiter (7,12-9), and sub of Saturn (1,10-11).
11 = Badhaka for Aries Asc. rising mother A = Planet in Occupant’s Star
B = Occupant
C = Planet in Owner’s Star D = Owner
3. Sun is omitted because its sub Saturn is in house 1 (recovery, life saver).
4. But Venus is not omitted for its sub Saturn located in house 1 because Venus, lord of houses 2,7 (double Maraka) is in the sub Saturn, lord of house 11 (Badhaka). A combina- tion of death inflicting double Maraka, Badhaka and Moksha (house 12/ end of life), at all three levels of planet, its star and sub, outweighs recovery/ life saver (house 1). Moreover no planet is in the stars of Venus, which is the cuspal sub lord of 2 (Maraka), 3, 8 (serious illness, danger to life) and 9. It is suggestible to make an overall judgment of the chart oth- er than sticking to a statement only.
