In addition to creating bi-weekly segments for Tribe Talk, the Broad- cast Journalism 3 students are provided the opportunity to work in the community and within the district to create projects that will be viewed outside of Wando. Students will work on a team reporting, directing or editing, and will serve as mentors to Broadcast Journal- ism 2 students.

Broadcast Journalism 4 is designed for selected students who serve editing and production leadership roles on the Tribe Talk staff. Students apply advanced skills in researching and writing broadcast copy, operating video cameras, editing, and performing talent roles. In addition to creating bi-weekly segments for Tribe Talk, the Broadcast Journalism 4 students are provided the opportunity to work in the community and with the district to create projects that will be viewed outside of Wando. Students will work on a team reporting, directing or editing, and will serve as mentors to Broad- cast Journalism 2 and 3 students. Broadcast Journalism 4 students are responsible for trouble-shooting technology issues, creating graphics for each bi-weekly show, as well as monitoring and adjust- ing the show for quality control before it airs.

Civil Engineering and Architecture is the study of the design and construction of residential and commercial building projects. The major focus of the course is to expose students to the design and construction of residential and commercial building projects which will include architectural drawings, site planning, landscape design, structural design, and foundation systems. Utilizing activity-project- problem-based (APPB) teaching and learning, students will analyze, design and build physical models of residential and commercial facili- ties. While implementing these designs students will continually hone their interpersonal skills, creative abilities and understanding of the design process. This course applies and concurrently develops secondary level knowledge and skills in mathematics, science, art, and technology. The major objective of the course is to produce desktop-published camera/copy ready masters for reproduction.
