Vintage cars are becoming ever more popular. The number of classic cars at least 20 years old and vintage cars older than 30 years old is growing constantly. In Germany alone, more than 700,000 vehicles that are at least 20 years old are registered. Bosch Automotive Tradition, the branch of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket dealing with classic cars, provides classic car enthusiasts with a wide range of replacement and wearing parts, a free knowledge database on the Internet and also attends vintage car rallies. Classic car fans can also find vintage Bosch replacement parts in a special eBay shop, "Bosch Klassik Teilevermittlung" (Bosch Classic Parts Finder).

Originality of the car in every detail

Bosch Automotive Tradition has a range of around 20,000 replacement parts from the inventories of Bosch plants around the world, ensuring that original Bosch replacement parts can be found for classic cars.

Professional technical measures to extend the maximum storage time ensure that the customer receives a fully-functioning Bosch replacement part in original equipment quality even after a long period of storage. If a specific part is in high demand but stock levels are insufficient, Bosch Automotive Tradition arranges the reproduction of the part by an external supplier — using the original production documents and original machines and testing equipment. For example, Bosch Automotive Tradition has taken on production responsibility this year for a wet version of the first Bosch electric fuel pump, which is no longer in series production. The pump was mainly used in Mercedes vehicles between 1964 to 1972, such as the legendary Mercedes 600 Pullman.

With a vast online knowledge database, Bosch Automotive Tradition is now helping classic car enthusiasts to locate suitable spare parts. Over 16,500 documents are available for free download under the menu option

"Wissen" (knowledge) on the www.automotive-tradition.de website. The documents can provide answers to questions such as which starter was originally installed in a car, in which cars a particular generator was used, or also provide information on which alternative replacement parts can be used. Vintage car fans are making extensive use of the knowledge

database. Bosch Automotive Tradition records a monthly average of 15,000 downloads of the archived documents.

Distribution via wholesalers and Bosch Service centers.

Parts produced by Bosch Automotive Tradition are available from wholesalers and Bosch service centers or the classic divisions of automotive manufacturers. Information about the current reproduction parts and the spare parts range is also available on the homepage (www.automotive-tradition.de).

"Bosch Classic Parts Finder" as eBay shop:

Rare replacement parts are often available from Bosch Service Partners or wholesalers. These "gems" are offered by specialist partners on the "Bosch Classic Parts Finder" eBay platform. This section contains new parts, professionally repaired components, or similar replacement parts if original parts are no longer available from Bosch. Special services such as expert appraisals, technical journals or repair guides, as well as vintage Bosch advertising material complete Bosch's online offer.
