Let me set the stage. Joan is a woman around twenty-six years old who innocently delved into the occult when a friend introduced her to ouija boards and Dungeons and Dragons at the age of fifteen. She has difficulty holding a job and finds herself depressed and suicidal. She had a fight with her boyfriend eight months ago and is bitter about it. They broke up, and she cannot talk with him without yelling and crying. She recently became a born-again Christian and was baptized in the

Holy Spirit. She tries to pray and read her Bible but falls asleep as soon as she starts praying or reading the Word.

Whenever she prays in tongues, she eventually starts to yell, swear, and guttural words of anger come out of her mouth.

First, you need to counsel Joan, if possible. If not possible because of circumstances of time and place, you need to at least give her an idea of what to expect during a deliverance session. (Refer to the chapter

"Preparing a Person for Deliverance.")

Second, I am assuming that the people conducting the deliverance have prepared themselves through prayer and fasting, if necessary. In most cases, a Christian who walks daily in Christ need not go through any special regimen or preparation.

Sit the person on a comfortable chair. One worker can sit on either side of her. Do not stand or sit directly in front of her, as she could kick or strike unexpectedly.

Inform Joan that she is to refrain and restrain herself from biting, kicking, punching, or other physically harmful actions.

Worker: Let´s start off with a word of prayer.

Father, we come to you with the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we claim your protection. We put on the whole armor of God

—the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the shoes of the preparation of the Gospel of peace, and the sword of the Spirit. We put on the Lord Jesus Christ, for the Word of God says that He is our salvation, our righteousness, the

object of our faith, and the author and finisher of our faith, as well as our readiness. Our Lord Jesus is also the Prince of Peace. He is our peace. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, and Jesus Christ is the Word of God.

We ask that you send your waring angels, that you place a hedge of fire about us to keep the enemy out, that you ring us round about with your angels, Lord. We lift up Joan to you and ask that you set her free from these demons that have placed her in bondage. We thank you for it in Jesus´ Name. Amen.

There is no rigid requirement that an opening prayer has to be like the above.

Worker: Now, Joan, we want you to renounce out loud involvement in the occult, or any other sins that the Holy Spirit brings to mind. Ask God to forgive you. (Lead her through the prayer below.)

Joan: Lord, I renounce all involvement in the occult. I declare to Satan that I belong to Jesus Christ, and He is my Lord and Savior. I renounce all involvement in ouija boards, fortune-telling, Dungeons and Dragons, palm-reading, and any form of witchcraft. Father, I repent for having participated in any occult activities, and I ask for your forgiveness. I claim the blood of Jesus over my life.

Worker: Joan, you need to forgive your boyfriend, parents, brothers, sisters, and anyone that you have any grievances against or problems with. (Once again, lead her.)

Joan: Father, I forgive my boyfriend for leaving me and for the many things that I have held against him. I ask that you help me to completely accept him. I forgive my mother and father for not helping me and for the things that I have held against them. Lord, I do not wish to have any bitterness in my life. Lord, I ask that you now forgive me my sins.

Have Joan speak them out loud, but not so anyone can hear, if it is of the nature that may hurt or embarrass anyone, including Joan. Actually, I favor having Joan be more specific in the areas which she needs to forgive.

Worker: Father, we stand with Joan, and we ask that your kind mercies be extended to her as your child. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we break all curses of iniquity that have come down Joan´s family line, back ten generations on each side of her family, her mother´s side and her father´s side. We claim our Lord Jesus Christ as her curse, for it is written in the Word of God that Jesus served as a curse for us, that everyone who hangeth from a tree is cursed. Father, we pray forgiveness for the sins of her forefathers.

Lord, you have heard Joan forgive all those that

have trespassed against her, we ask that you break all curses caused by unforgiveness.

We break all soul ties between Joan and her boyfriend in the name of Jesus. We break all soul ties between Joan and her mother. We break all hexes and curses that have been placed on her from all sources, in Jesus name.

If the Holy Spirit prompts you to lay hands on Joan

´s head or shoulders, you should do so. Otherwise, you should not. Men should not lay hands on a woman below the shoulders, even on her back. If the female subject or other woman lays hands on those parts, the men can place their hands on the top of the woman´s hand.

Worker: Demons, we call you to attention. We come against you in the name of Jesus. We command that you will not cause any violence or vomiting. We bind up the strongman of Jezebel in the heavenlies. We bind you up hand and foot with chains from heaven. We put a gag in your mouth. We cut off all cords between you and the spirits in Joan. We cast them off. We bind up the spirit of Leviathan in the heavenlies.

Bind up all strongmen the Holy Spirit shows you.

Worker: Demons, we dry up your waters. The Word of God says that He will dry up your seas and cause a drought. We make your habitation a dry desolation. We dry up your seas, your rivers, and your springs. We knock your gates down.

The Word of God says that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. The Word also says that the Lord will break the two-leaved gates, He will break the bars of brass and cut asunder the bars of iron. We knock down your pillars. We bind up the gatekeeper of Pride and Witchcraft. We knock down every wall. Not one stone shall stand upon the other.

We pour the blood of Jesus all over you. It cleanses.

We command you to come out in Jesus, name.

We have all authority over you in His name. He has given us all power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.

Nothing shall by any means hurt us. I put you under my feet right now in Jesus´ name, and I stomp on you.

Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. The Lord Jesus has defeated you. He spoiled principalities and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Jesus defeated Satan himself.

Demon, you are a defeated enemy. We command you to loose this woman. Leave in the name of Jesus. We bind up even Satan in the heavenlies. We cut off all cords between you and Satan.

Your helpers should be agreeing with you and praying in tongues. The assistant should be agreeing with you and more or less echoing your statements or adding some of his own. The assistant should relay what he receives from the Holy Spirit to you.

By this time, the spirits will likely be manifesting and coming out through coughing, vomiting, choking, yawning, or weeping. If not, the person should at least be twitching or claiming cramps in the stomach or shoulders and neck. Command them to manifest and come out. If they still do not, there is some area of legal rights that has not yet been touched. Sometimes, the person has occultic jewelry on his or her person, or there is unforgiveness. Sometimes, there are things in her home that are cursed objects. These need to be taken care of first.

Deliverance always works. If there are no manifestations for ten or fifteen minutes, that indicates areas of rights the demons have.
