Lube Oil Pressure sensor open

Engine harness defective

Inspect the sensor for damaged, corroded, bent, broken, expanded or pushed back pins. If sensor pins are found damaged, replace the sensor.

Also inspect the sensor for dirt, debris, moisture in or on the sensor pins.

If observed, flush the dirt, debris, moisture from the sensor pins.

Check the lube oil pressure sensor as per sensor specification. If it is not as per sensor specification, replace the sensor.

Check the sensor supply voltage between pin ‘G’ and pin ‘J’ of engine harness. If no sensor supply voltage is observed, check the engine harness for continuity.

Check supply voltage = 5V if the lube oil pressure sensor signal wire (pin ‘H’) is shorted to + 5V sensor supply wire pin ‘G’ in the engine harness. If short is observed in the harness, repair the wires, that have short circuits or replace the engine harness.

ECPG Malfunctioning Replace the ECPG.

Check for fuel or coolant contamination in the lube oil.

If contaminated, remove the cause.

Drain all the oil in engine and fill the fresh lube oil in the engine.

Replace lube oil filter(s).

Remove oil sump. Inspect/replace the suction tube.

Remove oil sump. Inspect/replace suction tube.

Inspect lubricating oil pump. repair or replace the pump if necessary.

Check the sensor supply voltage between pin ‘G’ and pin ‘J’ of engine harness. If not, check the engine harness.

Check the continuity between connector ‘A’ and engine harness (pin ‘G’, pin ‘H’ or pin ‘J’). If no continuity is observed, repair the wires that have short circuits or replace the engine harness.

Replace the ECPG.

Lube oil pressure sensor defective

Check the lube oil pressure sensor as per sensor specification. If it is not as per specification, replace the sensor.

replace the pump. Also check LTA raw water pump operation.

Incorrect engine installation or mechanical problem

Check :

- CAC plumbing.

- Engine compartment temperature

- Lack of insulation on exhaust manifold or turbocharger.

Fuel actuator getting +24V battery supply continuously

If +24 V supply is present on actuator,

1) check the engine harness for actuator connection shorting to supply voltage.

If short, repair the wires that have short circuits or replace the engine harness.

2) If supply voltage is still present on actuator, replace the ECPG.

Incorrect calibration Use proper calibration and check

engine overspeed limit is set sufficiently higher than the rated engine speed.

Inspect the coolant level sensor for damaged, corroded, bent, broken, expanded or pushed back pins. If sensor pins are found damaged, replace the sensor.

Also inspect the sensor for dirt, debris, moisture in or on the sensor pins.

If observed, flush the dirt, debris, moisture from the sensor pins.

Engine harness defective

Check Pin ‘R’ of engine harness shorted to + 24 V battery supply.

If short is observed, repair the wires or replace the engine harness.

Coolant is low Check the coolant level.

Add coolant, if necessary.

If voltage is still not preset, replace the ECPG.

Air in fuel Check air in the fuel. Tighten the

fuel line connections. Tighten filter.

Check tank stand pipe

OK Fuel Shut Off Valve not operating

Actuator not getting supply

Check the resistance of FSO Valve.

If resistance as per specification, check for mechanical operation. If not, replace the FSO Valve.

Check the engine harness for actuator connection, short or open, if faulty, repair the wires that have short circuits / open circuits or replace the engine harness.

If voltage is still not preset, replace the ECPG.

Actuator coil open / short or sticky

Check the fuel actuator coil resistance. If as per specification, check actuator for stickiness. If sticky, clean / replace the actuator.

If coil resistance not as per specification, replace the actuator.
