AEC encourages its students to pursue their B. Tech Final Year project in the industry. Faculty visit industries/Institutions for procuring Data required for their research works. Based on this premise the research committee makes concerted endeavours towards organizing institute-industry interfaces at different levels.

3.5.2 What is the stated policy of the institution to promote consultancy? How is the available expertise advocated and publicized?

Faculty of AEC is a good mixture of experienced people in industry and teaching. Senior Faculty who has industry exposure are given freedom to take up consultancy works. They concentrate on development works and market the ideas as a product or a service to other academic institutes and also to industry.

3.5.3 How does the institution encourage the staff to utilize their expertise and available facilities for consultancy services?

The institute encourages the staff to utilize their expertise at different organizations. Most of our staff members from various departments deliver their lectures in various colleges. Institute promotes faculty members and staff members to attend professional training programmes.

3.5.4 List the broad areas and major consultancy services provided by the institution and the revenue generated during the last four years.

Limited consultancy has been provided in the areas of software development, electrical equipment installation and testing. The following are some of the consultancy works taken up:

Consultancy is provided to the study of the energy conservation and management problem at Vinayaka Paper Boards Pvt.Ltd.

Consultancy is provided to the identifying and solving the problem in Electrical Machine Maintenance.

Consultancy is provided to the identifying and solving the problem in PLC installed in PID controller at Sri Vinayaka Paper Boards Pvt.Ltd. Consultancy is provided to the solving problem in Machinery at Efftroncis Systems PVT.LTD.

Consultancy is provided to the solving problem in Machinery at Efftroncis Systems PVT.LTD.

Consultancy is provided to the solving problem in Machinery at ANDHRA ELECTRONICS LIMITED.

3.5.5 What is the policy of the institution in sharing the income generated through consultancy (staff involved: Institution) and its use for institutional development?

The revenue generated from the consultancy will be distributed as 40% share to the College and 60% share to the staff involved in the Project/ consultancy work.

3.6 Extension Activities and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)

3.6.1 How does the institution promote institution-neighborhood-community network and student engagement, contributing to good citizenship, service orientation and holistic development of students?

 The College has one NSS Unit with 100 students, and with 1 Programme Officer. College also involves all the faculty members, All the students at the entry level are encouraged to join NSS. NSS volunteers are involved in the following:

1. Environment Enrichment and Conservation:

o Plantation of trees, their presentation and upkeep. o Creating tree consciousness among the community.

o Construction of roads, village streets, drains etc., so as to keep the environment clean.

o Popularization land construction of Gobar Gas Plants. 2. Health, Family Welfare & Nutrition Programmes:

o Programmes of mass immunization, Blood Donation by willing NSS volunteers and preparation of inventory of blood groups of potential blood donors.

o Provision of safe and clean drinking water supply.

3. Social Service Programmes:

o Work with the organizations of child welfare.

o Work in institutions for physically challenged and mentally retarded.

o Work in Cheshire homes, orphanages, homes for the aged etc. o Work in welfare organization of women

4. Production Oriented Programmes:

o Working with people along with explaining and teaching improved agricultural practices.

o Rodent control and pest management o Weed control.

5. Education and Recreation:

o Adult Education (Short-duration programme) o Work in crèches.

o Organisation of Youth Clubs.

o Programmes including discussion on eradication of social evils

The college has conducted the following programmes

1. Blood donation camp at AEC on 18th February every year. 2. NSS unit organized the plantation programme in AEC on 31st

October 2014

3. Attended NSS Special Camp – ―Youth for Emergency Interventions and Education‖- conducted by JNTU University Kakinada on 20th November 2014.

4. 7days NSS Camp held from February 1st to 7th, 2011 in the village Surampalem, Gandepalli, EG Dist, Andhra Pradesh.

5. Conducted Blood donation camp at Aditya Engineering College on 18th March, 2011

 The college has ―Acharana Charitable Foundation‖ exclusively run by CSE Students.

 The college has ―Samikhya Charitable Society‖ exclusively run by EEE Students.

3.6.2 What is the Institutional mechanism to track students‘ involvement in various social movements / activities which promote citizenship roles?

National Service Scheme (NSS): The students are recruited as volunteers

based on their consistent academic performance, participation in social/extra curricular activities in the past. Their voluntary participation is given utmost priority besides the above criteria. The volunteers are allowed to participate in the social activities with prior communication from the NSS Programme Officer of the College. The activities are planned at the start of the academic year by the Committee Constituted at the College level. Each volunteer is motivated and allowed to participate for 120 hours of voluntary service per year for two years and in addition to this, volunteers are monitored so that they contribute for the social service in a Special Camping Programme with a Theme as mentioned by JNTUK- Kakinada.

Acharana Charitable Foundation and Samikhya Charitable Society:

Students involvement in the Social Service through Acharana charitable foundation and Samikhya charitable society is voluntary. The Students submit their proposal for a kind of service they render to the Principal for approval which is forwarded to NSS PO to verify and authenticate the proposal. Once the proposal is authenticated, then it will be approved. For emergency services, the above process may not be followed.
