5.1 Conclusiones

§ Existe estructura genética de R. porosus en el Caribe colombiano detectada con el marcadores moleculares mitocondriales, con una diferenciación genética significativa

§ R. porosus presenta niveles bajos de diversidad genética para los genes mitocondriales COI y RC en el área de estudio.

§ Mediante el análisis del gen mitocondrial COI, se evidencia la presencia de dos haplotipos de R. terranoevae en el Caribe colombiano, lo que contribuye a confirmar la presencia de dicha especie en esta zona del Caribe.

§ Se detectaron tres loci microsatélites heterólogos polimórficos (Cli7, Ls24 y Ls30) en R. porosus que brindan información sobre la distribución de la diversidad de la especie en el Caribe colombiano.

§ R. porosus presenta niveles bajos de diversidad genética para los genes mitocondriales COI y RC en el área de estudio.

5.2 Recomendaciones

§ Manejar de manera independiente los dos stocks genéticos del litoral Caribe colombiano

§ Desarrollar cebadores específicos para las especies de tiburones y recursos explotados en la región Caribe.

§ Analizar la estructura poblacional de R. porosus en un rango geográfico mas amplio y con un tamaño de muestra mayor, en el que se incluyan muestras del las Antillas del Caribe, Centroamérica, el Caribe sur y Brasil.

§ Profundizar en estudios taxonómicos, basados en caracteres morfológicos y moleculares que aporten herramientas para discriminar con facilidad las especies de Rhizoprionodon en el Atlántico occidental.

5.3 Futuras direcciones.

§ Repetir el estudio en el tiempo para determinar el comportamiento de los haplotipos y las frecuencias alélicas en el Caribe colombiano.

§ Generar más información que contribuya al conocimiento y definición de unidades de manejo y para la integración multidisciplinaria en el diseño de planes de manejo pesquero para la especie.
