CAPÍTULO 6 – CASOS DE LAVADO DE DINERO EN ENTIDADES NO BANCARIAS

6.4 Condenados en Corrientes Pyramis

Grade: 9 required Course #: 847 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

God reveals Himself through His creation; science is a good way to study the creation and thereby gain insight into the nature and character of God. Physical Science is an overview of the basic concepts in Chemistry (structure, properties, and interactions of matter) and Physics (general principles governing force and motion, matter and energy, space and time). Students also practice problem solving using various scientific methods. Coursework includes lab experiences and projects.

Honors Physical Science

Grade: 9 Course #: 848 Credit: 1 Two Semesters

Honors Physical Science presents a more in-depth coverage of the basic concepts in Chemistry and Physics with additional emphasis on scientific methods, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Coursework includes lab experiences and projects, and may include short essays and research papers.

Biology

Grade: 10 required Course #: 766 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

The main thrust of Biology here at TCS is to study the processes of life for both plants and animals. After a brief history of biology and its relationship with God’s absolute truth, the student will learn to classify living

organisms. This will then be applied to a thorough study of the insect and plant worlds. Next, our attention will be turned to the study of biochemistry and the balance that God has created in our body systems. This will lead us into an in depth study of cytology (cells) as it relates to life functions and processes. We will then continue with genetics by using the function of DNA as a link from cytology. The class will then move on to a study of ecological concerns that influence our daily lives.

Throughout the year, labs will be utilized when practical to allow hands on learning of the specific objectives being presented in class lectures. Dissections will be limited to three representatives of major phyla.

Honors Biology

Grade: 10 Course #: 767 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

This course presents a more in-depth study of the science of living organisms. The dissection and physiology of several organisms will be part of this class.

Anatomy

Grade: 11-12 Course #: 744 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

During this course we will study the structure and function of the human body. We will start with general information about cells, body organization, and the chemistry of life processes. We will progress to detailed information about human organ systems and their interrelationships. Throughout the year, labs will be used whenever possible to allow for hands on learning. Some of these labs will include dissections. Our guiding verse for this course is from Psalms 139:14 –“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Biology with a C or better. Chemistry

Grade: 11-12 Course #: 773 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

God reveals Himself through His creation; science is a good way to study the creation and thereby gain insight into the nature and character of God. Chemistry is the study of matter and energy and the interactions between the two. This course provides an overview of the basic concepts in Inorganic Chemistry including the structure, properties, and interactions of matter. It is based on typical college introductory General Chemistry courses. The coursework emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills, and is heavily dependent on the labs. It may also include short research papers or essays.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Geometry and Biology with a C or better Co-requisite: Algebra 2

Honors Chemistry

Grade: 11-12 Course #: 774 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

This course provides a more in-depth coverage of the basic concepts in Inorganic Chemistry. Like standard chemistry, it is based on typical college introductory General Chemistry courses. Honors Chemistry very strongly emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills, and is heavily dependent on the labs. Coursework also includes short essays, short research papers, and formal lab report writing.

Co-requisite: Algebra 2 Honors Physics

Grade: 12 elective Course #: 846 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

In our study of Physics here at TCS, the main thrust throughout the course will be problem solving and the use and applications of higher math to real and contrived situations. During the first quarter we will discuss measurement and problem solving, the three states of matter, velocity and acceleration, and conclude with concurrent and parallel forces. The second quarter will include two-dimensional and periodic motion, conservation of energy and momentum, work and machines, angular velocity, and laws of gravitation. The third quarter begins with a study of thermodynamics, and then moves on to a study of wave theory including sound and light. During the fourth quarter, we will study electricity and magnetism in theory and spend much time solving real life application problems on paper as well as in the lab.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Biology, Algebra 1, and Geometry with a B or better Co-requisite: Algebra 2

Integrated Science

Grade: 9-11 elective Course #: 802 Credits: 1 Two Semesters

Students will be doing a study of physical science, chemistry, earth science, and biology concepts. The goal is to give students a strong foundation in critical thinking and independent work -study skills. Students will be trained in effective note taking for science, concept mapping, and important study skills. There will be a great variety of different lesson styles. Students will have labs, collaborative learning assignments, and inquiry based science activities.

The main focus of our class will be that God is the Creator of the universe; the foundation of all we know and study in science. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.
