This report is base on the International standard of assuran- ce – AA1000 APS (2008). This standard is based on three basic principles:

Incidence Index
Number of accidents which occurred during the working day or on the way to and from work for every thousand workers exposed in Spain in 2008. It is based on the formula: II = total number of accidents involving days away from work which occurred during the working day x 1000 /average number of workers.
This system is based on Recommendation 16 of the OIT’s International Conference on Labour Statistics. The method for registering and reporting workplace accidents and work- related illnesses has been adapted to OIT and EUROSTAT criteria
Severity Index
Number of working days lost as a result of accidents which occurred during the working day or on the way to and from work for every 1000 hours work at Cintra in Spain in 2008. It is based on the formula: SI = number of working days lost per year x 1000 / number of hours worked.
The total number of hours worked is calculated by multiplying the hours established by collective bargaining corresponding to the average FTE (Full Time Equivalent) of each company. FTE = Nº employees registered during the month *Nº of days registered during the month*coeffi cient of the reduction of workdays/Nº of natural days.
