Information about resources that have been removed from the system or can no longer be found is retained in the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center database repository. This information includes details about Hypervisors and virtual machines.

The Removed Resource Retention option deletes removed resources from the database after a retention period. You run Removed Resource Retention after the Hypervisor probes. To

Multiple Tivoli Storage Productivity Center servers: If you have multiple Tivoli Storage Productivity Center servers in the environment and have the server rollup function enabled, you can use this report to see all the Hypervisors in your environment.

configure the retention period, expand Administrative Services ConfigurationRemoved Resource Retention, as shown in Figure 4-31.

To clear the history record for a resource and activate a new period for resource retention, perform a discovery or probe job on the resource after updating the retention period.

Removed Resource Retention period: The default Removed Resource Retention period is 14 days. You can change the duration depending on how often your environment changes.
