Overview The Aged & Disability Services Dial-A-Bus transport service is a door to door local area transport service provided for aged members of the community and people who have a disability. The service operates on select days in the following areas: Mornington, Mt Martha, Rye, Rosebud, Balnarring, Hastings, Mt Eliza, Safety Beach, Red Hill and Somerville. There is also an Outings and Excursions program to places of interest.

Eligibility Recipient of any pension and living independently. Person may be aged, have a disability or a mental health condition. The Co-ordinator conducts a

telephone assessment to determine if the service can meet the client’s needs. The person needs to be able to walk to the car and get in and out of the car with or without assistance. Walking frames can be

accommodated but wheelchairs cannot. Drivers can provide assistance and can wait with the client for up to an hour.

Cost Donation of what clients can afford.

Notes Clients need to leave a message on the answering

service and the Co-ordinator will return their call within 1-2 days. Two business days notice is

required. The service is funded by the Department of Health.

Overview TransAccess is a ‘one stop shop’ for people and community organisations that require assistance with transport. They coordinate community transport across the Council areas of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston, Port Phillip and Stonnington, as well as giving information to people in other areas. Services include:

Transport Case Management (Bayside, Kingston,

Port Phillip, Stonnington, Glen Eira) available to people who are frail aged and/or disabled. Includes an assessment of individual transport needs, identification of options and, where necessary, referral and management of access to these services.

Volunteer Supported Transport Service (Bayside,

Kingston, Port Phillip, Stonnington and Glen Eira) provides transport to medical appointments and community activities and assist peoples when using public transport or taxis. Volunteers may be able to remain with client to provide additional support during medical appointments or community activities.

Supported Residential Service (SRS) Community Access Service (Kingston, Port Phillip, Stonnington,

Glen Eira) for residents of SRSs to participate in community activities and pastimes.
