13. Fear
People think that fear is an emotion, but it would be better to say that fear is a reaction to an enormous power who rules on this planet — who is, in reality, a dark entity, one of the elders who rebelled against the Command and had his light taken from him. This entity was sent from the Cosmic Astral Plane to our earth to veil the souls of men, to prevent them from seeing the Path, the future, the reality. This entity penetrated not only into the earth and the physical body of mankind but also into the astral and mental bodies of mankind, conditioning its actions, emotions, and thoughts.
Our worship is often backed by fear. Our agreements are generated through fear. As long as fear dominates our feelings, thinking, and actions, we will not have clear direction, which is inspired by the Higher Forces. It is very true that fear is our number one enemy. At present, fear permeates all human beings.

Thus fear, like a universal, black, overcasting cloud, builds a barrier between humanity and the Source of Light. It permeates each human being and causes spiritual paralysis. It is through this force of darkness that people hate each other, exploit each other, hide from each other, kill each other, lie to each other, and are jealous of each other. It is through fear that we violate the Laws of Nature. Fear fills us with an insatiable greed and spiritual ignorance.
It is through fear that mankind mobilized the forces of Nature to destroy Nature itself.
Life on this planet is propelled in physical, emotional, and mental fields by the winds of fear. It is through fear that people deceive themselves and others. Fear rules in politics and in education. Fear increasingly controls the media, especially at this time. Fear is the motivating force behind our modern day sciences. Fear already controls most religions, especially Christianity, which should be a philosophy of fearlessness and love. Fear controls the economy of the world. It obscures the eyes of humanity so that humanity cannot see the presence and influence of fear.
Fear has obsessed almost all human beings. There are still those in whose hearts the flame of fearlessness burns. This flame must be kept alive by all means. The hope of humanity is fearlessness.
Some people ask, “How can one be corrected without injecting fear in him?”
Of course, fear is used on many occasions to correct people. Punishment, pain, and suffering bring correction to the person because pain and suffering become associated with their wrongdoings or evil acts. But in both cases, the person does not go through a real change; he is inhibited. True correction comes when the person understands that if he changes his actions, greater joy, happiness, and wealth will be on the way.
He can also be taught that actions taken against light, love, and beauty, in any form, upon any field, prevent him from reaching harmony with the creative forces of Nature, which guarantee his conscious immortality and spiritual actualization. We do not need to show a person the abyss and warn him. We can show him the summit of a mountain and help guide his steps toward the summit.
In the near future, philosophers and psychologists will mobilize a war against fear. A new technique will be developed to educate people in fearlessness and harmony with the principles of Nature. Thus, one more device of evil will be exposed.
14. Speed
Evil has another way to destroy humanity. In this age, people are fascinated with speed. They think that speed is the main factor for success and development. Because of this false idea, they have created a lie which imposes increasing speed upon us. In a very short time, man will lose control over his time and turn into a wheel in a great machine — and those who push the buttons will determine his speed and make him run until he is useless.
In an advanced age, people will live in the idea of Infinity. They will not force their bodies to run faster than they are capable of. In our age, life is scheduled in such a way that every hour is planned for something. Very soon, no one will have any private time which is not loaded with something to be done.
Forced speed has many disadvantages. For example, children are forced to act as adults. Man is forced to pace himself and live by the speed of machines. Speed can turn into a disintegrating factor; it can load our minds and
hearts and make them machines.
We are receiving three hundred times more knowledge than the average student was two hundred years ago, yet our brain is almost the same brain.
We are receiving five hundred times more emotions than an average person received one hundred years ago. Our daily papers, television, and news load us and bring emotions to us from all around the world. Our bodies are under more pressure every day, loaded with radioactivity, short waves, telephone calls, and increasing daily obligations.
One hundred years ago, under normal conditions, a child had only a few emotional shocks in his life. But in these days, a child has, in one day, an equivalent number of emotional shocks to those of the entire life of a child in the past. If he watches a violent or criminal movie, if he hears news of war, crime, terrorism, and earthquakes, his emotional body goes through intense pressure. When he hears that “respectable” people deceive the government, or that a president is impeached or assassinated, or that the police are selling drugs, he undergoes immense mental and emotional shocks. These shocks are responsible for the way he acts at school, the attitude he has toward his parents, the relations that he has in his community, the crimes he will commit in using drugs and alcohol, and his evasion of duty and responsibility.
Why do we load our children’s hearts and minds with images of crime, terrorism, destruction, dishonesty, and failure? All of these images will affect their education, behavior, and health. Satan knows this and will make every effort to create more violent, criminal movies, news, and events in order to produce an insane world.
The speed imposed upon our systems is dangerous not only to our physical health but also to our sanity and moral life. We collect information and knowledge in our minds, and fifty percent of that information and knowledge has no use for us or for others. Like junk, we collect information in the backyards of our minds and thus lose precious space in the clutter. Many people cannot store more appropriate data because of the junk that occupies all their space.
We are forced to speedily collect data, emotions, and information. We are forced to do things in a mechanical way. One day we will become only an operator of that machine which we created to do all our jobs and, if the machine goes wrong, we will lose our heads.
We speed our vegetables in growing. We demand that our children grow up sooner. We want immediate responses, rewards, and solutions to our problems. We have lost the state of timelessness. Timelessness is health, relaxation, and tuning in with Infinity. Timelessness originates not from knowledge but from liberation.
We are imposing such a speed upon our mechanisms that we will end the life of humanity on this planet. We must slow down. Speed leads to insanity if it is not controlled with patience. Patience is a feeling of Infinity.
When merchants brought big clocks to certain eastern countries for the first time, they were examined and considered a tool of Satan. They attacked the merchants and destroyed the clocks with hammers. My grandparents used to tell us this story again and again to make us aware of how ignorant those people were who thought clocks were the tool of Satan. But on closer analysis, there was an intuitive perception in the actions of those people. We have turned life into a machine through clocks, watches, and speedometers.
We force ourselves every year with greater and greater speed, paying for it through our ill health and insanity. Our consciousness is wrapped in the concept of time in such a way that we do not have a period of ten minutes of timelessness. Even the periods of “rest” are flooded with thoughts of what will be done after that short period of “rest.” It is only in a state of timelessness that the health of the body, the heart, and the mind can be
restored.
Certain people are already machines. They run by a speed imposed upon them because speed has become equal to survival. To survive, one must continually in-crease his speed of thinking, feeling, acting, and even speaking and writing.
One day a garage mechanic told me that he could change a tire every five minutes. “What is your purpose in doing that?” I asked. “More money,” he said. Months later, I went back to have a tire changed. He was sitting on an old battery. “What is the matter?” I asked him. “I was in the hospital for three months. They changed my tires, but my engine is not running very well and I cannot work for a while.” One can “change tires” but if his engine is worn out, new tires will not help. We pay for violating the principle of timelessness.
The whole concept of time and speed is an illusion fabricated by dark forces to exterminate human existence from this planet. How can we isolate ourselves from such a mechanical life based on time and speed? The only way that still presents hope lies in the moments of meditation in which we may enter the domain of timelessness and feel a deep relaxation from the imposed pressures and demands of time and speed. There is no cure except through a catastrophic explosion or through a well-organized plan to decrease the demands of time and speed and give people an opportunity to relax and live in ease, at least for a few moments, in the joy of timelessness. Ecstasy, concentration, and contemplation are moments of timelessness.
To make the idea of speed more clear, we can give the following explanation.
Let us imagine a clock that can give us the real time. It has twenty small wheels which are geared to each other. They must move with their standard speed, or else we will have neither the right time nor a working clock.
The solar system is a clock. Many kinds of “wheels” are geared to each other by invisible energy fields. The speed of the wheels is relative to the timing for which this big clock is set. Every wheel in this Universe will adapt itself to the speed of the other wheels, which must run at the standard speed. If any wheel is slow, there will be problems in the clock. If any wheel is speeding, there will again be problems in the clock. To remove this problem, the slow wheels must speed up to reach the standard speed, and the speedy wheels must slow down to the standard speed.
Satan’s intention is to distort the standard speed and make humanity, which is one of the wheels in the big clock, slow down or speed up or do both at
different times, creating chaos. This chaos is already evident. Some nations are speeding, while others are retarded. Both of these conditions contribute to world problems.
The clock may be tuned up by creating a standard speed. We do this superficially sometimes when we say, “By the time the child is twelve, he must finish elementary school; by the time he is eighteen, he must graduate from high school.” Or we say, “By the year 2000, this computer system must be in operation.”
We already have a sense of speed, but it is related to outer phenomena based on greed, pride, vanity, and ego. Since our greed, pride, vanity, and ego are operated by the dark forces, they can make us speed to fulfill our greed, pride, vanity, and ego in order to create difficult and sometimes unsolvable problems in the “big clock.”
We are going faster and faster, disturbing our health and happiness — even the weather — and polluting the air, water, oceans, and earth. We are traveling at such a speed that if we realize the danger into which we are propelling ourselves and suddenly try to stop, we will end in final destruction.
We want to fill the gas tanks of our brains with knowledge in faster and faster ways. We want to feel excited and reach more excitement in faster ways. We eat faster; we eliminate faster; we live faster and die faster. We want to be rich faster; we want to make others run faster. Eventually, we foul up both the universal clock and the clock within us and end in the abyss.
A laborer used to work eight hours, then come home and rest, eat, and enjoy himself with his wife and children. You can find very few people today who live in such a state. Most people travel one or two hours on the freeway or use various means of public transportation to reach their factory or office.
They eat their lunch in haste and end up working overtime. They come home nervous and exhausted to find that their husbands and wives are not home yet because they are in the same shoes. Or they come home to a dinner that has been made in speed, and then eat it in a hurry to fulfill a self-made program of previously established obligations. We are even sleeping faster because in our sleep we imitate what we do in our waking states of consciousness. If our speed is fifty times faster than it was fifty years ago, what will be the speed of the population living two hundred years from now in a world that is polluted, radioactive, and devastated? The greatest assistants of Satan are not devils but those who speed.
Even our sexual excitement is faster. In the past, men and women had fewer chances to become excited, and they followed their normal speed. But now pornographic literature, movies, and theaters make their excitement one hundred times faster. To satisfy the speed of their excitement, they need more fuel to burn, and very often they end up burning out their engines. In a certain nightclub, fifteen hundred women watch nude male dancers. Then the next week, men watch nude women dancers. Such vehicles of excitement speed the secretion of their glands beyond imagination, and they go out of their way to find other vehicles capable of carrying them at that speed of excitement.
People do many insane things to satisfy the speed inspired by the dark forces, to “enjoy” life and collect money to disturb the standard rhythm of life.
One day a great genius will come and calculate the speed of our solar system and find the ratio between its speed and the speed of each kingdom, and then the speed of each individual in each kingdom. This will be the beginning of a great tune-up of the life on this planet. The proper speed will not only be set for our cars, airplanes, and rockets but also will clearly set the speed of our learning, the speed of our emotional experiences, and the speed of our spiritual development. It may be necessary to retard the speed of some and increase the speed of others. This will be possible if a genius comes and if leaders and rulers are free from Satanic influences.
We have inner and outer speed. Outer speed is what we do with our body, actions, and machines. Inner speed is related to the progress of our spiritual unfoldment and the expansion of our consciousness. If we synchronize these two speeds in some way and set our timing to the standard, then we will enjoy immensely our lives and play our role in the Great Movement.
People think that knowledge is always good. This is not true. Knowledge is not good if you are not ready to use it in the right way, if you have wrong motives and selfish or destructive intentions, or if it is premature for you.
Premature knowledge hinders your future progress. Knowledge and light are energies. They are like medicine which must be given to people with the wisdom of a specialist in medicine.
Most children do not even have a childhood. They are fertilized to grow up as soon as possible to enter the competition of life. Some children are forced by religion or by cults to live a life of heaven, to dream about hell or paradise before they learn how to put on their shoes. Their mental mechanisms are forever ruined, and they live an abnormal life.
We expect our children to know everything and to behave like adults.
Television and movies make them prematurely play like they are adults, and when they pretend they are adults, either we are pleased or we think that something is wrong with them. We also fail in thinking that to make children behave like children, they must do whatever they want.
Speed fascinates us. We want to learn a language in one month or read a five-hundred page volume in two hours. Of course, this is possible by speed methods. Why are speed methods bad, when they apparently save time, energy, and money and make us successful?
Our mechanism must be ready for the increasing speed. We must have right direction and a field in which to share the result of our speed. All of these things can be possible if we consider speed to be progress only when we synchronize it with the speed at which our consciousness can expand.
