Capítulo 2. LA EDUCACIÓN DE JÓVENES Y ADULTOS
2.5 La EDJA en Colombia
i. This protocol be optimised and used for transformation and regeneration of other recalcitrant Kenyan sweetpotato varieties via somatic embryogenesis.
ii. Phosphomannose isomerase-based selection system should be evaluated alongside other common selective systems to clearly determine its effectiveness on sweetpotato.
iii. Isopentenyltransferase (IPT) gene be used for transformation of other
important food crops to delay drought induced senescence and hence enhance drought tolerance.
iv. Isopentenyltransferase (IPT) gene be coupled with another drought
tolerance gene to determine if there is synergistic effect of increased drought tolerance by co-expressing of the two genes.
