All sensors meet original equipment quality Exact-fit connectors and optimal cable lengths Quick and easy to install
For exact measurement of the exhaust composition, car manufacturers are fitting an appropriate lambda sensor to each engine, meaning that there is a multitude of types available on the market. If a lambda sensor has to be replaced in the workshop, the spare part should also function exactly the same way as the original part. The Bosch spare part product range meets this requirement in full: Around 1000 different sensors meeting OEQ are currently available for supply, meaning that Bosch has the perfect lambda sensor for almost every vehicle. Bosch is the European market leader with around 90 percent market coverage.
Lambda sensors from the Bosch spare part product range are identical in every way to the original sensors. To ensure problem-free installation in the workshop, they are supplied along with the appropriate connector and cable length. The thread is pre-lubricated and fitted with a protective cap, making the sensor replacement process quick and easy.
500 million Bosch lambda sensors over more than 30 years
The first lambda sensor designed to measure the oxygen content of exhaust gas in a passenger car was produced by Bosch in 1976. Over 30 years later, Bosch has now produced 500 million lambda sensors. In the current technological climate, the regulated three-way catalytic converter used in conjunction with lambda sensors is still the best method for cleaning exhaust emissions.
Today, lambda sensors are also increasingly being used to reduce
emissions in diesel engines. They restrict smoke, prevent diesel rattle and

ensure a longer service life for diesel engine components. With the further tightening of exhaust emission limits for diesel vehicles, the use of lambda sensors is expected to continue to rise over the next few years.
Lambda sensors are therefore gaining in significance both in trade and in the workshop. Although modern lambda sensors can last well over 100,000 kilometers without any problems, their service life can be reduced through contaminated fuel and oil residue during combustion. For this reason, it is advisable to have them checked regularly in the workshop to ensure they are functioning correctly. Only perfectly functioning lambda sensors are able to help ensure cleaner exhaust gas, reduce fuel
consumption and contribute toward optimum engine performance.
