gin, in Scorpio a Joan of Arc, in Aquarius a Victorian matron.
Mercury is the intellect, the quality of intelligence, communicative abilities, mental set and ideas about the self and the world. Mercury in Gemini is a continual invention of language or means of communica- tion, in Virgo is the classical scholar, while in Pisces is illusory media and cinema.
Venusis the aesthetic sense, creativity, cultural affinities, and the qual- ity of relationships, as well as sexual mores, attractions and taste in people. Venus in Taurus is raw sensuality, in Libra by chivalric idealism, in Sagittarius Shakespearean bawdiness.
Mars is the warrior, aggressive, changing by force, and exploratory, and the urge to destroy and revel. Mars in Aries is celestial assertion, in Virgo the Homeric hero, in Scorpio the Crusader and in Capricorn the robber baron.
Jupiter is the religious belief system or philosophical stance that cre- ates a world view. Jupiter in Taurus worships the earth mother, in Cancer the home and family, in Aquarius worships the machine. Religions change from sign to sign. Jupiter in mid-Virgo would be early Christians contemporary with Jesus Christ or Gnostics, in Scorpio cru- saders, in Sagittarius reformation Protestants, in Pisces atheists or exis- tentialists.
Saturndescribes the incarnation that determines the attitude to reali- ty and the degree of scientific understanding and the material attitude. Saturn in Aries accepts only what it can see and touch. Saturn in Leo is the divine right of the Caesar in Libra Roman law, and in Aquarius, it is the rule of the capitalist factory owner.
The Outer Planets move slowly and in birth horoscopes describe col- lective influences shared by entire generations. In to respect reincarna- tion, they do not have their own column of influence, but are a band across all seven planets with a strong focus on the planet of which it is a higher octave. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury; it is an incar- nation representing eccentricity, individuality, independence, and inventiveness. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus; it is an incarna- tion representing psychic influences, mediumship, sensitivity, weak- ness, and contact with disease. Often Neptune registers when psychic regression is the keynote, and is times in history that contain mystical and magical connections. Pluto is the higher octave of Mars and indi- cates the incarnation that was most revolutionary, transformative and had the greatest contact and influence upon the masses.
The Personal Points are more general influences, shown as a band across the entire ARTS. The Ascendant is very important as it describes the time in history of the personality, physical appearance, and envi- ronmental characteristics. The Midheaven is ego-consciousness, spiritu- Personal Inner Planets

Personal Points
Ascendant Personality, personal characteristics, environmental qualities, ways of acting, physical appearance, milieu
Midheaven Spiritual awareness, ego-consciousness, objectives, sense of purpose
The Sun is the primary masculine incarnation and describes fatherly qualities, consciousness, self-awareness, and sense of objectivity. The Sun in one of the first four signs creates a paternal sense that is myth- ical and often omnipotent, in the sign Leo kingly, in Scorpio inquisito- rial, or in Aquarius Victorian.
The Moon is the primary feminine incarnation and shows motherly feelings, emotions, the ability to nurture, protect and the valuing mech- anisms. The Moon in the first four signs is the mythical divine mother in her protective and devouring form as Kali, in Aries evoking the emotional reality of a cavewoman, in Virgo of an early Christian vir-
isters in 233 BC; and a square from Uranus (individuality and inventive- ness) at 11° Virgo retrograde (moving backwards), which registers in 254 BC. The Ascendant in Napoleon’s horoscope is 16° Libra, show- ing that his personality is within one degree of the time of Charlemagne. What is even more amazing, in a speculative chart for Alexander, he has planets registering in the time of Napoleon!
Using a new technique pioneered by Michael Erlewine called Local Space, the lines of planetary force are mapped onto the globe. Napoleon has a Sun Leo line passing through Egypt, where he sent his armies to retrieve the secrets of the pharaohs. It may be that these lines Figure 40: Napoleon Local Space Chart

al realization, and objectives in life related to an incarnative time in his- tory. The personal points are often a combination of many influences, rather than one in particular.
Constellationsof more than one planet signify powerful times of influ- ence where multiple influences are in operation. If the Sun and Venus are conjunct in 10° of Sagittarius in the birth chart, indicating artistic or aesthetic aspirations and awareness, the reincarnation influence could be a man who was artistic in 1587, or a young woman who exhibited a very strong consciousness, and the influence combines the two categories. Planets such as Mercury (intellect), Jupiter (religion), and Saturn (practical influences) in the sign Virgo, the time of Classical civilization, would be appropriate for a classicist who specialized in lan- guage and religions.
Aspectsin the horoscope indicate planets that are in relationship with each other, and the same logic transposes into the reincarnation scheme. Aspects in the ARTS show connections between historical periods and their equivalent incarnations. For example, planets in opposition between the signs Leo and Aquarius are in opposing eras in history. The Leo time (3000 to 800 BC) is the age of kings when the individual was highly valued, while the Aquarius time (1840 to AD 1910) is the antagonistic Victorian era when social causes and the col- lective national attitudes totally dominated society and signalled the effective end of monarchy. Supportive aspects such as trifles show octave developments of a similar theme. In Leo time, the individuality originated and self-consciousness developed, and in the next fire sign, Sagittarius the humanistic Renaissance man was valued. The aspects are harmonics, and we read them along each horizontal file.
