Guiding Questions for Interviews/Focus Groups Introduction
Good afternoon and welcome to our discussion. Thank you very much for joining me today to talk about chorus classes and creativity. My name is David Langley and I’m from Georgia State University. I am exploring creativity, especially how you use it in your class and how you might want to use it in the future.
You were invited today because you are a Chorus teacher/chorus student and I am interested in hearing your beliefs and opinions. In our discussion, there are no right or wrong answers. Be aware that I am interested in both positive and negative points of view. When you share today, please understand that your comments will be completely confidential. I won’t share your name with anyone. After our conversation, please don’t share the details about this
interview with others taking part in the study.
Our conversation is recorded today because I don’t want to miss any of the comments that you share. Please be aware that the recordings will only be heard by me, and that you will be completely anonymous. I won’t use your name in my study, and no one will know what
comments belong to you. Opening Question
