LONELY AT THE TOP effets sonores [EN] #2 Wendelien van Oldenborgh
15.0318.05.08
Lecture/Audience/Camera is a project by Dutch artist Wendelien van Oldenborgh produced at the Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen [MuHKA] during March and April 2008. It features a series of lecture situations organised by the artist which will become the basis for an experimental film. Taking place over approximately eight weeks, this project will involve the production process as well as the public presentation of a new work.
Continuing a format already employed by the artist in earlier works, Van
Oldenborgh will use the idea of a ‘film production’ to stage a series of performative events, proposing the museum as a location and the participants delivering lectures and the audience as the cast. Lectures will be delivered by an artist, a curator/critic and an art historian - who will all expand on the conventions of the lecture format.
Lecture/Audience/Camera will be at the 5th and 6th floor above MuHKAFE where the LONELY AT THE TOP sound effects programme takes place. These spaces will function as set, auditorium, studio and viewing space, as material shot during the lectures at the 6th floor, will be screened at the 5th floor for the duration of the project. The completed film will be screened at MuHKA during the autumn of 2008. Lecture/Audience/Camera is the first component of KEYWORDS/BEHAVIOUR [a lecture series at MuHKA in which artists, designers, theorists and others reflect on the term behaviour] and it expands this lecture series along more explicitly performative lines.
