In effect, to be in a position to exit from their ontological confinement, to interact amongst themselves, entities charged with a potential for action and effect are obliged, in their manner, to ‘make signs’ to each other, to recognize each

other, to mutually apprehend each other. This signaletics within the materiality of Flows is in itself energetic in the sense that the possibilities for molecular action are rooted within this signaletics. These possibilities can redraw entitarian compositions, displace the traits of separability d–∞_{, trigger the fractal faults that, in the last analysis, pilot the molar}

order. Without having an energy charge, the entities in question would avoid each other or pass through each other without consequence. One must thus accept that it is necessary to make a basic principle – that of the expressive apprehension of entities and relations arising from the same phase spaces, the same basins of Universes of reference – prevail at the deepest point of the constituents of physics. These ways of being-outside-self for a particular species of alterity ought to be conceived as so many levels of energy. I underline the plural, because we are not in the presence of an Energy that would traverse the entirety of states of things without batting an eyelid, identical to itself, holding hands with its companion Information (or the Signifier, which amounts to more or less the same thing) – which for its part would traverse the entirety of states of sense with the same serenity! One must admit instead that expressive energies are converted, by way of an abstract (in the sense of extraction) equivalent, into entitarian potentials for action and effect, to then be transferred to the heart of the modular tensions that link matter and form.

Such would be the vital minimum of consistency, tangential to a chaos that offers neither stopping point nor last resort for any effect whatsoever. However, one ought not to lose sight of the fact that the module tensions in question result from a memorial taking consistency of Flows. One will recall, in effect, that the order r of the serial layering of Flows was directly dependent on their extensional memory m (Figure 5.6d).
