CESD-921 Car Care Clinicfor Women
Car Care Clinic for Women develops your general automotive service knowledge. The emphasis is on vehicle maintenance, identifying under the hood components and roadside emergency procedures. You will also come to understand service communication and the difference between required and recommended service. The entire inspection process is covered. In fully equipped labs, you will learn how to change a flat tire, perform a battery boosting procedure and examine key under the hood elements.
CESD-933 Small Engine Repair
Small Engine Repair is a practical course focusing on the basics of two- and four-stroke engine operation. In a lab format with time for practical work, you will learn to diagnose, repair and maintain your gas-powered lawn care equipment, with discussions on how engines, carburetion and ignition systems work. You will also have the opportunity to bring your gas-powered equipment to class and repair it under the supervision of an expert instructor.
CESD-945 Hybrid and
Electric Vehicles
The Hybrid and Electrics Vehicles course is beneficial for both licensed and non- licensed students looking for an introduction to both types of vehicles. The course provides an overview of the purpose of hybrid technology, along with its history and current electric car application. Emphasis is on safe operating practices when servicing both hybrid and non-hybrid systems.
CESM-900 Automotive Service
Technician Pre-Certificate
This Automotive Service Technician Pre-Certificate benefits uncertified tradespeople who wish to write the Ontario Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification exam. As per the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities curriculum for auto service technicians, topics include steering, suspension and brakes, gear trains, engine systems (cooling, lubrication, etc.), electrical, electronics, fuel systems and workplace practices and procedures.
CEZB-802 12 Hour Air Brake
Endorsement
The 12-Hour Air Brake ‘Z’ Endorsement course is authorized and approved by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) to provide the training required for drivers of air brake-equipped vehicles. You will study theory in preparation for the MTO written exam, along with practical focus through an in-class mock-up of the complete air brake system, the use of various system components and the use of air brake equipped vehicles.
TRAN-901 Introduction to
Logistics Management
This introductory online course focuses on the principles and practices of logistics management. Explore the emergence of logistics as a major component of corporate success and develop a clear understanding of the intricacies of, and inter-relationships between, various logistics systems. You will acquire the background knowledge required for continued studies or a career in
transportation. The emerging importance of logistics in both the public and private sectors is also studied.
