K-school

In the throes of a real estate boom that at times becomes literally explosive, the city of Mumbai, India has seen a resurgence in its once-infamous organized crime scene. Its notorious gangsters of the 1990s were chased offshore after wars within its formerly secular criminal subculture turned into a bloody conflict between Hindus and Muslims. The old dons ruled from abroad for years, until the new economy attracted a younger school of sharks. This new generation of gangster vies for money, prestige, and control of the city’s lucrative land development and moviemaking industries. A newcomer to the chaotic gang scene is a little- documented outfit dubbed K-School, after its putative leader, Raaghav Kongara. Unlike his peers, the short-statured and shorter-tempered Kongara is not a slum kid on the rise but a sociopathic outcast from a fast-rising family. Accounts differ as to whether he has been truly disowned by his tycoon father, Anand Kongara, or is simply furthering the family business by alternate means. Kongara is famed for putting his lieutenants through his own version of business school, and for the sudden violence with which he strikes his enemies.

In May of 2005 Kongara was shot in the head outside a disco near the fashionable Coloba Causeway district. Whisked away by supporters, he disappeared and was assumed dead. He resurfaced in the fall, now adopting a reclusive approach to personal security. In the ensuing months, six members of two rival gangs were found brutally slain in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and faraway Dubai City. Due to successful veil-outs in otherwise fruitless investigations, our teams were able to conceal from the public the true tenor of these killings. In four of the cases the victims’s bodies had literally turned themselves inside out. As far as our historical research department can

ascertain, neither Ashley Blackwell (1853-1925) or his son and successor Conrad Blackwell (1876- 1946) were involved with Esoterror or possessed genuine supernatural powers. For most of his long life, the same seems to have been true of Blackwell’s grandson, the current E.C.S.C. grandmaster, Bram Blackwell (b. 1918.) Until 1995, Blackwell’s conclave of geriatric occultists behaved more like a weekly tea party than an Esoterror cell.

Then Blackwell received a new package from the Secret Chiefs, containing revised rituals and the alleged secret of immortality. Since this time, no E.C.S.C. member, no matter how elderly, has died. According to one informant, none of them now looks a day over seventy.

Infused with fresh energy, the E.C.S.C. now says it’s seeking new blood. However, none of the younger members stay around for long. At least seven applicants went missing shortly after contact with the group, and have yet to be found. Blackwell has become a fixture on British television and radio as an expert on the occult. His subtly unnerving books on the subject increase in sales every year.

The ultimate role of the group in the grander Esoterror scheme is at present unclear. It may serve as covert support for younger operatives in the UK. Or its members may be gathering strength for some dramatic strike against decent society.

Key aides to Blackwell include:

Phyllis Parsons (b. 1920): widow of the African explorer, bon vivant and British officer Wilfred Parsons. Silent partner in the publishing firm Tallon & Nesbit, which publishes Blackwell’s books.

Percy Monkman (b. 1921): decadent poet and painter, friend to Kim Philby and Anthony Blunt; suspected peripheral figure in the “Cambridge Five” spy ring.

Cyril Longden (b. 1930): former Anglican vicar, editor of sixteen books of crossword puzzles.

denies any connection to the Stasi cadre that once shared its name. On closer examination, familial ties connect key members of the present group to the original conspirators.

Now the Partei-Verein recruits operatives, usually as unknowing dupes, by drawing them into a world of extreme S&M practice. Well-sourced rumors state that cell leaders have synthesized a drug to rapidly regrow torn flesh and pulverized bone. Thus extreme pain aficionados can be subjected to tortures that would otherwise permanently disfigure or even kill them, only to be subsequently healed. It does not take a high- level desk analyst to surmise that the source of this drug lies on the other side of the membrane. Whether it is actually a pharmaceutically active substance or (more likely) a cover for the actions of one or more ODEs, is a subject warranting further investigation.

Warning: if it is a drug, resist the temptation to use it to heal your own wounds. Side-effects of such a thing would surely prove monstrous.

Club meetings are held on a floating basis at a variety of venues. Events are private and applicants carefully screened. Most are permitted to attend only gatherings which would be deemed innocuous by experienced denizens of the underground sex scene. (Agents unused to this subculture may be shocked even by this level of debauchery, so be prepared to act as if nothing untoward is going on.)

Only attendees who attend frequently, get to know the ringleaders, and exhibit telltale signs of disruptive perversity, are invited into the inner circle. There they are exposed to the healing rituals. Several have since gone on to commit unspeakable sexual crimes. The publicity surrounding these has weakened the membrane throughout Germany. Others are used by the leaders as personal slaves. The group’s apparent leader is Marquard Fuchs, 42, both of whose parents were high-ranking Stasi officials and founders of the Cold War Partei- Verein. In his daytime life he owns and operaties a chain of high-end furniture stores. Sources suggest that his original sexual organ is unresponsive, even with the aid of erectile dysfunction medication. His The fifth victims’ brain had been substantially

eaten by semi-transparent worms of no known phylum. The sixth was found cut into precise two- inch cubes, freeze-dried, and stacked into a new shape in the midst of a sculpture garden.

Needless to say, the means of these killings strongly suggest that someone within K-School is able to draw upon the services of unremitting horror entities. A moderately credible rumor indicates that Raaghav Kongara, while convalescing from his 2005 head wound, was visited by a “mountain holy man” whose name translates as Ocean Musician. If this is a reference to the ocean game, Kongara’s guru could be a Mystery Man. What advantage such an entity perceives in an involvement with Mumbai gang warfare is a matter for high-priority investigation.
