A. Weather-Resistive Barriers: Where local building code requires one or more layers of a weather-resistive barrier paper, provide a vapor

permeable waterproof kraft paper complying with FS UU-B-790a “Building Paper, Vegetable Fiber (Kraft, Waterproofed, Water)” Type I, Grade D; or where approved, No. 15 unperforated roofing felt in accordance with ASTM D 226.”Standard Specification for Asphalt-Saturated Organic Felt Used in Roofing and Waterproofing.”

B. Fasteners: Size and type indicated. Where rough carpentry is exposed to weather or high relative humidity, provide fasteners with a hot-dip zinc coating per ASTM A153 or of Type 304 stainless steel. Where fasteners are in contact with pressure-treated wood, provide double galvanizing or use Type 304 stainless steel.

PART 3 – EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION

A. Fit rough carpentry to other construction; scribe and cope for accurate fit. Correlate location of furring, blocking, and similar supports to allow

attachment of other construction.

B. Securely attach rough carpentry work to substrate by anchoring and fastening as indicated, complying with the following:

1. NES NER-272 for power-driven staples, P-nails, and allied fasteners.

2. Published requirements of metal framing anchor manufacturer. C. Wood Grounds, Nailers, Blocking, and Cants:

1. Provide where required for screeding or attachment of other work. 2. Form to shapes cut as necessary for true line and level for work to

be attached.

3. Coordinate location with other work involved. 4. Attach to substrates to support applied loading.

A. Provide products that offer twelve months of coverage against in-place exposure damage (delamination, deterioration and decay) – commencing with the date of installation of the product in the structure.

B. Manufacturer’s Warranty: Five years against manufacturing defects. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

3.2 INSTALLATION

A. General: In accordance with GA-253, ASTM C1280 and the manufacturer’s recommendations.

B. Install sheathing with long dimension horizontal, with vertical ends centered over connective steel surfaces.

C. Provide galvanized metal studs for infill support if existing conditions require additional framing to support sheathing per manufacturer’s recommendations.

D. Install batt insulation at all exposed frame wall areas as shown. 3.3 PROTECTION
