CAPÍTULO I: HISTORIA Y PLANTEAMIENTO DE LA CUESTIÓN:
3. Los diferentes modelos teóricos de participación obrera
3.3. Los diferentes modelos de inspiración marxista
As with all academic research, this study also has a number of limitations. First of all, as discussed in Chapter 5, due to the nature, selected research methodology and chosen data collection method of this study, the findings of this research cannot be largely generalized. However, the findings of this research can still be taken advantage of to some extent by companies with similar traits.
As the data in this study was collected primarily via Skype interviews with four management level employees in the headquarters of the case company, the author feels that if more contact, especially face-to-face interaction, could be involved in the interviews between the author and the target interviewees, the participation of the interviewees may have been essentially more active and thus more information would be provided. Also because the interviewees all resided in the headquarters of the company located in China, the opinions of the market entry are one-sided. For future
studies, it would be beneficial to take into consideration the opinions of manager level employees in the targeted foreign market as well.
Furthermore, this research is also limited by the fact that it took into consideration only a company from China, and the markets of USA and Canada. With the findings of this research, it is hard to predict how a company with similar traits could for example enter a relatively smaller market in Europe or even how a North American company could enter China. In addition, it could also be said that although studying crowdsourcing, this research is limited to only one specific type of crowdsourcing, namely witkey, and the findings of this research probably cannot be applied to another crowdsourcing service provider of a different type.
Future studies could investigate how customers react to a Chinese witkey service provider, how the country of origin effect might have impact on the entry of Chinese witkey service providers into the North American market. This suggestion could for example be conducted as a longitudinal study, to see how the opinions of customers change over time. Crowdsourcing in general is a large and new topic to cover in a research, and the author believes that it would be beneficial to also study how other types of crowdsourcing service providers other than witkey service providers have succeeded or failed in entering foreign markets. Last but not least, both USA and Canadian markets are huge markets which share a number of similarities, and the case company of this thesis is determined to enter more geographical areas including relatively smaller markets in the EU, it would be interesting and beneficial to study how they can enter relatively smaller target markets which are different from the markets of USA and Canada, and compare the findings with the findings of this research through cross-case analysis.
