different Satanic organizations arguing and fighting, and over what? A difference in personal opinions on how to practice Satanism? Or simply because one group likes to cause trouble or hates the leader of another group? Who knows but it happens a lot and it is rather annoying.

I look at this and often shake my head. People have often claimed that I preach “Satanic unity”. This is far from the truth. Competition and disagreements are needed if Satanism is to progress in a healthy manner. But not when it means being held back. Too much infighting is not healthy, and in the end it often becomes self destructive. We often hear of christian groups bickering and condemning each other, but what we don’t see is them ripping each other apart like what we see in Satanism. Except maybe in Northern Ireland. They don’t like each other but they tolerate one

another. This is what I look for in groups. Not unity, but simple tolerance. So why does infighting exist in Satanism and what purpose does it serve? In my

opinion infighting and division in Satanism exists because of a simple reason - because Satanism, or the various groups and organizations within the religion of Satanism are composed of PEOPLE.

It doesn't really matter if it's a sect, group, tribe, religion, family, company, business, high school, sports team, nation, or group. They all have one basic

fundamental common denominator - PEOPLE. Where there are people there is human nature, and these group associations and or social orders are only a means

through which that human nature expresses itself. Satanism is not any different. It's composed of people. Each Satanist gravitates to others of like mind and quality. And through these groups/sects our primal human nature "bleeds" through and expresses itself. So we end up with rivalries, competition, and chest

beatings, pissing contests and whatever.

People are like a tiger’s stripe pattern, no two are totally alike, or at least that's how it should be. Each person is unique, with their own ideas, opinions, convictions, insights, and perspectives. All which are formed by a unique level of education, understandings, and ability to comprehend or extract meaning from abstract thought.

People also gravitate towards others that resonate with their own mentality. "Birds of a feather flock together." A skeptical atheist would rather associate with other skeptical atheists then a theistic- religionist, and vise versa.

This is because there is less tension or resistance, or less confrontation, and perhaps more validation of thoughts and beliefs when like minds associate together. A theistic-religionist who associates or hangs out with a group of hardcore atheists would feel out of place or not in a proper environment conducive to his or her belief structure and or frame of mind. This in turn gives rise to groups, associations, sects which develop a

group mentality/identity that resonates with the individual people that composes it. I.E., a group of cheerleaders will most likely have a cheerleader’s quality; a group or sect of Mahayana Buddhists will have a Mahayana Buddhist quality distinct from say a group of Zen Buddhists.

Another quality of people; or more accurately - the human animal, is that people are competitive and territorial. By territory I mean both physical-land territory and psychological territory. When one person has a good idea other humans tend to get upset because that good idea infringes on their personal agendas or that they didn’t think of it first.

The simple truth is that almost all Satanic

organizations are the same and almost all have at some point been simple branch offs of the Church of Satan or a group that similarly branched away from them. These organizations ether get their start as a grotto of the CoS or subgroup, or they are founded by members who left the CoS for their own reasons. It is because of these branching groups the Church of Satan has become competitive for reasons other than human nature - business. An organization like the CoS where most of its funding is from its $200 membership fees, and book sales, can't afford to

endorse and be friendly with other groups of Satanists... especially the free kind. But they don’t go around

starting bitch fights with them out rightly over stupid stuff. Instead they tend to simply tolerate and ignore other groups. It is only on the rare occasion that a member will take actual offence to these lesser or branching groups and fire off a few out right attacks.

Other groups such as the ONA don't want to get along with anybody because they have agendas to which the other groups would thwart or not understand. This is mainly because of their extreme tactics that often boarder on terrorism and fascism.

Humanity has always been divided. Even in a homogenous nation, there still exists division,

competition, and rivalry of some sort. Its how nature works to get the best genetics to the top of the pile. Because humanity has always been divided, human religion or associations will also be divided. Satanism is no different. In fact most of Satanisms teaches its adherents to keep a strong sense of uniqueness and self identity. This creates a competitive atmosphere. This, however, does not mean that Satanism should be divided into warring cells and groups. Such behavior though at times is healthy, can be destructive and

stupid for Satanism to be divided; it is healthy to be competitive. It is however, stupid to let that competitive nature override sensibility, when there is a common goal worth reaching for.

It's easy to think pretty thoughts about getting along and loving each other; and its easy to talk about getting along. It's impossible however, to undo millions of years of evolution to please the whims of a priest of some church. Would nature even take notice of such a person? Probably not. I say, save the love thy neighbor talk for the christians. You don’t have to like one another, just simply tolerate each other enough to accomplish a unified goal.

Some of us, like myself, are proud to be human. I am proud to be competitive. I hate and disagree like most normal people do. I like being an individual to a certain extent, and I like associating with others that think, compete, and hate like me. It’s the "Darwinian Struggle." Weak people, and weak groups, like weak tribes, weak nations, are annihilated or eventually are exploited into insignificance and extinction, or simply absorbed by the stronger forces. Much like how the Roman Empire expanded and solidified its power basis. But like the Roman Empire that crumbled politically and militaristically because of infighting, so will Satanism if it is aloud to continue on for to long.

Whining and crying doesn't do shit to stop this eventual destruction. Only affirmative action towards simple tolerance can prevent such destruction. That affirmative

do you think the christians have held on for so many years? They are certainly not unified, but they tolerate each other enough to do what needs to get done.

There was a time during the Cambrian period of life hereafter single celled organisms had learned to form multicultural "communities" that an explosion of creativity happened. Things during this period of evolution just went crazy. Species took every possible form and shape... there were arms races... and that life and ambitious evolutionary creativity heaved its way onto land.

It's from this period of experimentation, creativity, and competition, that Nature eventually picked the best design to express herself in. From all the millions of radical forms that came from the

Cambrian explosion, only a handful became evolutions crown jewels - streamline bodies and fins for aquatic animals, four legs for most land animals, and a beautiful simple form for Humanity.

Anton LaVey perhaps can be seen as the initiator of a "Satanic Cambrian Explosion" which we are now witnessing in all its glory. All these groups and outer forms that have come and gone for the last forty years. All maybe different externally, much like how each organism seems different in form; but beneath there is one life force. Beneath the many rival and competing forms of Satanism, is a dark force struggling to evolve into the best form through which it will be able to express its highest potential. In a nut shell all forms of

Satanism are, at their core, the same. We see the

development of new ideas and groups, each conducting their own arms race for religious rituals and theology. And all of it is fueled by this same primal dark force we call Satan.

What we know of as “Satanism” is right now in its “Cambrian Explosion” stage. It can go in any

direction we so choose for it. If the cutthroat actions of some are aloud to continue we could very well see the ultimate annihilation of a fundamentally sound religion. The conservative thought process of a single class or group coming into ultimate power and dominating all of Satanism, leaving little to no room for the creativity of other unique individual groups, would be disastrous for the Satanic religion. If a single solitary organization were to totally dominate Satanism with an iron hand, we would end up with no new thoughts or ideas. And that single group or organization would be just like the christians Roman Catholic church.

But on the flip side of the coin, if we were to

stop stabbing each other in the backs and simply say “Ok I hate your guts, but we have to work together on this.” We might actually end up seeing the birth of a new religious nation come to fruition. Perhaps a Satanic version of the Vatican City could possibly be built. That would be an interesting advancement.

Should a single Satanic organization come to total power, eventually it would splinter off into new groups or cells and we would find our selves right back

at this point again one day. Possibly after years of repression and bloodshed in which Satanism experiences its own dark ages. The only difference would be instead of christians running the show it would Satanists.

Satanism does not need to unify. It should not unify. The multiplex of different styles grants a much needed free choosing ground for the individual. We have achieved these differing forms of Satanism

without going through a long drawn out bloody history. The only thing left for us now to do in order to achieve our goals in Satanism, is to simply get along enough not to kill each other and combine our resources to achieve our goals. This doesn’t mean that we have to like one another, just deal with each other.
