CAPITULO II: MARCO TEÓRICO CONCEPTUAL
A. Manejo del efectivo y de capital de trabajo
The AT&T DCE Manager allows you to display, record and retrieve performance statistics about the operation of interfaces using ESF framing. These ESF interfaces gather the information in 15-minute intervals for up to a total of 24 hours (96 intervals).
NOTE:
Performance statistics are only available for those interfaces using ESF framing. Verify that this interface is configured for ESF in the Framing field of the Device Options application (see Displaying Device Options in Chapter 5, Configuring Your Device).
Access the Performance Statistics application from: H The AT&T DCE Manager menu on the menu bar, or H The Application menu on a specific window
What Statistics Can Be Collected?
You can collect some or all of the following performance statistics, depending on the device selected:
H Errored seconds
H Severely errored seconds H Unavailable seconds H Controlled slip seconds H Bursty seconds
Viewing Performance Statistics
You can choose to view performance statistics as either: H Textual in a grid format (see the example below), or
H Graphical in a histogram format (see the example on the next page) This example shows a textual presentation of performance statistics (grid).
This example shows a graphical presentation of performance statistics (histogram).
The data is color-coded as defined in the ATTDCE.INI file (see Changing the Product Initialization File in Chapter 3, User Interface Conventions).
Setting Time Intervals for Performance Statistics
Use the Interval Selection portion of the Performance Statistics window to set the Least Recent and Most Recent intervals for retrieval of statistics. There can be up to 96 intervals available, covering a 24-hour time period in 15-minute segments. The up and down arrows scroll thorough the time shown to the right in 15-minute segments for the past 24 hours.
The total number of intervals that can be collected from the selected device appear in the Valid Intervals field. The date/time of the oldest available interval is also displayed here. This information comes from the device and cannot be changed.
Collect performance statistics for the past 2 3/4 hours on a selected device. 1. Select the desired device (see Chapter 3, User Interface Conventions). 2. Choose Performance Statistics from either the AT&T DCE Manager
pull-down menu or the Application menu. 3. Set the Least Recent interval to 11.
4. Set the Most Recent Interval to 1. Notice that the time is set to 2 1/2 hours later than the Least Least Interval. However, because the time reflects the beginning of an interval, data was collected until 1:35 p.m, providing you with 2 3/4 hours of data.
5. Click on the Get button to retrieve the statistics data from the device. 6. View the statistics in a grid on the current screen.
7. Click on the Histogram tab to view the statistics in a histogram.

Saving Performance Statistics for Use by Statistical Products
The AT&T DCE Manager gives you the capability of saving performance statistics, which can be used by other statistical products such as Excel. Performance statistics are stored in the STATS Microsoft Access database in a table named ESF_STATISTICS.
NOTE:
Statistics are stored in the STATS database with a date/time stamp so that you can collect more than 24 hours (96 intervals) of data.
The following table presents the database schema that most Microsoft products such as Excel can directly access. If your statistical product cannot access this database schema, then use the Export function to export your performance statistics to an unformatted ASCII file (see Exporting Performance Statistics to an Unformatted ASCII File).
Column Name Access Type
Length
(Bytes) Remarks
device_name Text 65 None
ip_address Text 15 Formatted as NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN
date_time Date/Time 8 None
errored_secs Number 2 Recorded as an integer
severely_secs Number 2 Recorded as an integer
unavailable_secs Number 2 Recorded as an integer
controlled_slip_secs Number 2 Recorded as an integer
bursty_errored_secs Number 2 Recorded as an integer
To save performance statistics, click on the Save button on the Performance Statistics window.
Click on Save
Exporting Performance Statistics to an Unformatted ASCII File
The AT&T DCE Manager gives you the capability of exporting performance statistics recorded in the ESF_STATISTICS table to an unformatted ASCII file. Performance statistics are stored in the STATS database. The statistics are converted to an ASCII format separated by the column separator character that you define. Each row ends with a carriage return and line feed characters.
NOTE:
Statistics are stored with a date/time stamp so that you can export more than 24 hours (96 intervals) of data.
To export performance statistics:
1. Click on the Export tab in the Performance Statistics window. The Export window appears.
Export tab
2. Enter the following information. When the Export window appears, the available Date/Time appear in the appropriate fields.
Field Expected Input How to Enter
From Date/Time The beginning interval for exporting data.
Use any format to type in the date, or press F4 to use the Date Calendar. Type in the time.
To Date/Time The ending interval for exporting data.
Use any format to type in the date, or press F4 to use the Date Calendar. Type in the time.
File Name The fully qualified name of the file to contain the exported data, including drive and directory information.
Type the name or click on the Browse button to select an existing name.
Purging Performance Statistics from the Database
You are able to purge the statistical data recorded in the ESF_STATISTICS database.
To purge performance statistics:
1. Click on the Purge tab in the Performance Statistics window. The Purge window appears.
