This section describes the error messages that you might see when installing XP Performance Advisor. The error messages are presented in the following format:
• Error Title: Provides a brief description of the error

For steps on how to configure a static IP address or Loopback Adapter, refer to the XP Performance Advisor install guide available on Disk 1.
The installation wizard has detected that your management station does not have a static IP address or Loopback Adapter configured. They should be configured for the installation wizard to proceed. Static IP address or
Loopback Adapter is not configured on this management station.
Upgrade the processor speed to 800 MHz or install XP Performance Advisor on a
management station that already has the processor speed set to 800 MHz or greater. The installation wizard has detected
that your management station's processor speed is less than 800 MHz. It should at least be 800 MHz for the installation wizard to proceed. The processor speed is
less than 800 MHz on this management station.
JRE v6.0 Update 18 (the recommended version) is available on Disk 2 of XP Performance Advisor. Double click the executable file to install or install a JRE version of your choice within the suggested range. The installation wizard will exit now. After you install the JRE, double click
PA_Server.exeto resume the installation
of XP Performance Advisor. The installation wizard has detected
that JRE v5.0 Update 14 or later is not installed on this management station. JRE v5.0 Update 14 or a later version must be installed for the installation wizard to proceed. JRE v5.0 Update 14 or

Solution or Workaround Error Description

To switch the IIS Admin service to Manual mode:
1. Go toStart>Runand typeSer- vices.mscin the command line.
2. Double clickIIS Admin servicein the Serviceswindow.
3. In the IIS Admin Service window, select theStartuptype asManual.
4. ClickApplyandOKto save the changes. The installation wizard will exit now. After you set the IIS Admin service to manual startup mode, double clickPA_Server.exeto
resume the installation of XP Performance Advisor.
The installation wizard has detected that IIS Admin service is running on this management station. The IIS Admin service must be set to Manual mode for the installation wizard to proceed.

Release the required free disk space on your management station. The installation wizard will exit now. After you make the required disk space available, double click
PA_Server.exeto resume the installation
of XP Performance Advisor. The installation wizard has detected
that sufficient disk space is not available on the disk drive, where you are trying to install XP
Performance Advisor. There must be at least 8 GB of free space available for the installation wizard to proceed. Insufficient disk space
in <Install_drive>.
Remove Command View XP for the installation wizard to proceed. For more information, refer to the Command View XP install guide. The installation wizard will exit now. After you remove Command View XP, double click
PA_Server.exeto resume the installation of XP Performance Advisor.
The installation wizard has detected that an instance of Command View XP is already installed on this management station. Command View XP must be removed, before XP Performance Advisor can be installed.

that the administrator group does not exist on your management station. This group must be created for the installation wizard to proceed. The entered admin

After you create the groups, double clickPA_Server.exeto
resume the installation of XP Performance Advisor.
The installation wizard has detected that the user group does not exist on your management station. This group must be created for the installation wizard to proceed.

Upgrade the existing version of XP
Performance Advisor and the host agents to v3.5, or a later version. For more information, refer to the XP Performance Advisor install guide available on Disk1. The installation wizard will exit now. After you upgrade to v3.5, or a later version, double click
PA_Server.exeto resume the upgrade process.
The installation wizard has detected that an earlier version (pre 3.5) of XP Performance Advisor is installed on the management station. For the installation to proceed, the current installed version should be v3.5 or later.
Earlier version (pre-3.5) of XP Performance Advisor already exists on this management station.
