SETTING UP THE DIALER OVERVIEW

The Dialer tab contains lists of your videoconferencing contacts and their addresses. It provides faster ways for dialing other contacts than entering their numbers in the Manual Dialer. From each list, you can dial by double-clicking the destination contact.

Personal

Phone Book Use the Personal Phone Book, store names and addresses of personal and professional videoconferencing contacts. You can add, edit and delete Personal Phone Book contacts.

Speed Dial As your phone book accumulates more contacts, the Speed Dial provides a

quick way to dial the contacts you speak most frequently with. You can add and remove Speed Dial contacts.

Online

Directory Online Directories contain contacts who are registered to the same online directory as your system. You can easily dial registered contacts who are currently online.

You can copy contacts to your Personal Phone Book or to the Speed Dial, or view contact information. The online directory cannot be edited.

Multicasts The Multicasts List contains information about current public Interactive

Multicasts. To view a Multicast, double-click its entry. The Multicasts List cannot be edited.

ADDING A PERSONAL PHONE BOOK CONTACT

The Personal Phone Book stores your personal videoconferencing contacts and their

specific dialing information. You can enter the current remote party during a videoconference or add a party manually.

IDEOCONFERENCE

To add a contact to the Personal Phone Book during a videoconference:

1. Below the Remote Video, click the Add Contact to Personal Phone Book button. The Contact Details dialog box appears.

2. Enter the details for this contact. Click OK when you are done. The new contact appears

in the Personal Phone Book.

ANUALLY

To add a contact to the Personal Phone Book manually:

1. In the Dialer menu, choose Personal. The Drawer opens to the Personal Phone Book. 2. Click New. The Contact Details dialog box appears.

3. Enter the details for this contact. Click OK when you are done. The new contact appears

in the Personal Phone Book.

NOTE: You can also Copy and Paste a contact from the Online

EDITING A PERSONAL PHONE BOOK CONTACT

At any time, you may change the information of a contact in the Personal Phone Book. To edit a Personal Phone Book contact:

1. In the Dialer menu, choose Personal. The Drawer opens to the Personal Phone Book. 2. Click the contact and then click Details. The Contact Details dialog box appears.

PERSONAL PHONE BOOK CONTACT DETAILS

To list a contact in the Personal Phone Book, you must enter some details about the contact. Required

Information First Name Last Name

Dialing information, which could consist of at least one of the following: User Number (E.164), IP address, DNS Name.

Optional

Information User Name (Alias) - the computer's name in the connected network. Company

E-mail address Additional

Features Show in Speed Dial - Select to add this contact to your Speed Dial. The contact will be placed in the first free Speed Dial slot. Get Picture - Add a picture of the person. This picture will appear next to the contact's name in the Personal Phone Book and the Speed Dial.

Clear Picture - Remove the person's picture from the Personal Phone Book and the Speed Dial.

ISDN Set the appropriate phone number if you use the ISDN protocol to communicate with this contact.

Is SIP Select this option if you use the SIP protocol to communicate with this contact.

ADDING A PICTURE TO A PERSONAL PHONE BOOK CONTACT

You can add a grabbed picture to a Personal Phone Book contact as an additional identifying feature. The picture appears next to the person's name in the Personal Phone Book tab and (if added) in the Speed Dial.

To add a picture to the remote participant’s contact entry in the Personal Phone Book: 1. During a conference, Click the Grab Picture button under remote video window. The

Grab window appears, showing the picture that you copied.

2. Click Add to Contact. The Select a Contact window appears, displaying the entries in the Personal Phone Book.

3. Select the entry that will receive the picture and click OK.

The copied picture will appear in the contact’s Contact Details, the Personal Phone Book, and if applicable, the Speed Dial.

To add a picture to the remote participant’s contact entry in the Personal Phone Book: 1. Click the Grab Picture button. The Grab window appears, showing the picture that you

copied.

2. Click Save. The Save As dialog box appears. Browse to the appropriate location. Type a name for the new picture file and click OK.

3. In the Personal Phone Book, right-click the contact to which you want to add the picture. Click Details. The Contact Details dialog box appears.

4. Click Get Picture. In the Open dialog box, locate the picture file and click Open. The copied picture will appear in the contact’s Contact Details, the Personal Phone Book, and if applicable, the Speed Dial.

NOTE: You can also add a previously saved picture from any

DELETING A PERSONAL PHONE BOOK CONTACT

If necessary, you may delete contacts from the Personal Phone Book (but not the Online Directory).

To delete a contact from the Personal Phone Book:

1. In the Dialer menu, choose Personal. The Drawer opens to the Personal Phone Book. 2. Click the contact and then click Delete.

To add a speed dial contact:

1. Select Speed Dial from the Dialer menu. -or-

Open the Speed Dialer list and click on Edit speed dial list... -or-

2. In the Speed Dial tab, click New, or right-click and select New.

3. In the Contact dialog that opens, fill in the desired details and click OK.

ONTACT To remove a speed dial contact:

1. Open the Speed Dial settings tab as described in paragraph 1 above.

2. Right-click on a contact and select Remove, or select a contact and then click on the Remove button.

ADDING AN ONLINE DIRECTORY CONTACT TO THE PERSONAL

PHONE BOOK

You may add a contact from the online directory into your Personal Phone Book for more convenient dialing.

To add an online directory contact to the Personal Phone Book:

1. In the Dialer menu, choose Online Directory. The Drawer opens to the Online Directory. 2. In the Online Directory, right-click the contact and then click Add to Personal Phone

ONLINE DIRECTORY CONTACT DETAILS

You can view (but not edit) information about contacts listed in the online directory. To view online directory contact information

1. In the Dialer menu, choose Online Directory. The Drawer opens to the Online Directory. 2. Select a contact and then click Details. The Contact Details dialog box displays the

following information:

Contact Details Name and addresses (e-mail, E.164 user number, and IP address) of the contact.

Supported Hardware A check mark indicates if a camera (Video) and microphone (Audio) is connected to the contact's conferencing system. Status Online indicates that the contact's system is running and can

receive videoconferencing calls.

In Call indicates that the contact's system is running but is currently busy in a call.
