Everyone possesses psychic powers, i.e., is aware of events and experiences tran:;cending the five senses. As I was writing this chapter, I received a letter from a sister of mine who belongs to a teaching order of nuns in England. For the past 2 1 years I have had a group of friends who celebrate the age-old Mystic Christmas with me, and exactly at midnight we enter into a prolonged silence, meditating on certain ·age-old truths. My sister was asleep in England but witnessed the whole drama and heard my instructions to the group prior to the silence. There is only one mind, so prior to sleep, as she was thinking of me and the time difference, she simply tuned in at our midnight meeting and saw and heard the religious drama.

These powers are in all people, but oftentimes they are neglected, scorned, and ridiculed. Remember a simple truth:

Be careful to see to it that whatever psychic powers you have are used to bless, help, heal, and inspire mankind. Never use these powers to take advantage of any person or to interfere in any way with a person's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To misuse the powers of your mind would cause a disastrous reaction in yourself for the simple reason that you are the only thinker in your universe, and your thought, being creative, will bring into your own life what you affirm or believe about the other person.

How to Reverse the Negative Pattern

I had interviewed a young woman who was emotionally disturbed over a pending divorce. During the meditative period which followed the close of the consultation, I entered into a very passive, psychic, and receptive state of mind, wherein suddenly a scene opened up before me and I saw this young lady and a companion traveling in an auto­

mobile. The car was hit by a truck at a crossroad, the car was demolished, and she and her companion were killed. I reversed the picture in my mind, realizing the Presence of God in her, through her, and all around her, knowing and feeling that she was Divinely guided and watched over by Divine Love at all times.

I asked her, "Are you planning to go home by car for Christmas?" She said, "Something tells me, 'No,' but my girl friend insists I go with her. She will drop me off at my home and will continue to her home a few miles further." I suggested to her that under no circumstances should she go on the j ourney by car and that she should follow the inner guidance which always seeks to protect her. As a result she cancelled the trip with her girl friend and flew home .. Her girl friend went alone and was hit by a truck at a crossroad and fatally injured.

Psychical Research

Professor J. B. Rhine of Duke University, the Society for Psychical Research of Great Britain, and many academic laboratories throughout the world have collected a vast body of verified data on thousands of cases dealing with such powers as clairvoyance, whereby one perceives things and situations at a distance ; precognition, which is the ability to see future events as happening now in one's mind; telepathy, whereby one communicates mentally with others, collapsing time and space ; and retrocognition, which is the ability of many people to see events in the past. All these psychic powers are latent within all of us.

She Read the Obituary Notice Before It Happened

During a recent trip to Kana on the west coast of the big island of Hawaii, I talked with a waitress who told me that from time to time she would inform her family that she had read in the local paper of the deaths of certain very elderly relatives. Each time a complete search of the papers mentioned by her failed to reveal any such notice. Usually a week to ten days later the notices she referred to would appear in the newspapers. This is called precognition.

Extrasensory Perception Saved His Father's Life

One day about six months ago, a radio listener of mine wrote me, saying that he was driving his car along the highway to San Francisco when suddenly he heard his father's voice in his ear, saying, "Son, pray for me. I have had a massive heart attack." He pulled over as far as he could to the side of the road, stopped the car, and prayed for his father, affirming, "The peace of God rules in my father's heart. God is healing him now and God watches over him."

He said that he silently prayed like this for about half an hour and suddenly felt a great sense of peace.

In the next town, he phoned his father's home, and his mother told him that his father had been taken to the hospital due to a bad heart attack while driving his car to work. Fortunately, he had been able to stop his car, although in the middle of the road, and the man behind him on the road happened to be a medical doctor, who got out of his car, gave him an emergency injection, and took him to a hospital nearby. She said that he had passed the crisis and that he had said to her, "I sent word to my son, and I know his prayers saved my life."

This is clairaudience, whereby you hear clearly the inner voice of intuition or the voice of a loved one perhaps thousands of miles away, as time and space are obliterated in using the higher faculties of your mind. The father had had an intense desire to communicate with his son, who is deeply spiritual, and his subconscious delivered the message in the form of his father's voice to the ear of his son, who was about 600 miles away at the time. The time of the attack and the time the son heard the voice were identical. The quick action of the son undoubtedly saved his father's life.

These powers are within you and can range all over the world without obstruction of time and space.

When I am lecturing on a particular subject on Sunday mornings, there are men and women present who are seeking answers to specific questions or problems. Frequently, they send a message to me on the platform and I find myself deviating from my regular theme in order to answer them, but I always come back to the main topic. After the morning talk, many of them utter words similar to: "I was hoping you would answer the question that was uppermost in my mind and you did." What they do is to project this thought to me on the platform, and I respond. This is called telepathy.

On my arrival, she informed me that she was going on to the next dimension in a week's time, and she gave me the time and the day, all of which happened as she predicted. A widow visited me last year, saying that her husband, shortly prior to his demise, had told her he had made out a new will leaving all of his estate to her. His lawyer knew nothing about a new will ; the will he had was ten years old. I suggested to her that she claim, "Infinite Intelligence knows where the will is and reveals it to me. " She had searched everywhere in the house, but to no avail. Three or four days after she started praying, however, she distinctly heard her husband's voice in the kitchen where she was doing some ironing: "Look up the 45th Chapter of Isaiah." She did, and there she found the new will, attested to by two witnesses, all in legal phraseology, dated, and signed.

Intuitively she knew that her husband was still alive and much interested in her welfare. She feels his presence quite frequently in the house. Her subconscious mind responded to her prayer and spoke in the voice of her husband, which she instantly obeyed. In the next dimension, conversation is by thought only, but the subconscious mind caused the thought or desire of her husband to come forth as his voice. She experienced the j oy of the answered prayer; whether it was her own subconscious mind dramatizing the voice of her husband or the husband's thought made audible by the subconscious doesn't really make any difference, as there is only one mind common to all men and we are all immersed in that one mind.

Talking to the So-Called Dead Is a Common Experience I visited a local hospital recently to see a man who was, as he said, about to make his transition. The doctors gave him only a few hours to live. We prayed together, and he called out, "Jimmy, Mary, and· Jean are here." He conversed with them. These were his three children, all of whom had gone to the next dimension. Then he said to me, "Thaddeus is here. I didn't know he had passed over."

A wee1c later she learned her son, Thaddeus, had died in Australia. This man actually saw all th.e members of his family who had passed on. His loved ones were around him, comforting him, undeluded by the concepts of time and space, functioning in fourth-dimensional bodies.

An Army Officer Hears His Brother's Voice : "You Will Be Saved"

A few months ago, I spoke at a club dinner, and an army officer sat next to me. He had just returned from Vietnam. He said that he and his brother had been wounded on patrol but that his brother died from the wounds before help could arrive. Then a very strange thing happened. His brother appeared to him and said, "The medics are not far away ; I will tell them where you are and you will be saved."

In about a half an hour, two medics arrived and administered aid to him. They said, "An officer appeared from nowhere and gave us specific directions." They described the officer and it tallied in every detail with that of his departed brother.

After a few hours the helicopter took him to an army hospital, where he recovered rapidly from his wounds.

There is really nothing strange about this when you stop and think things through. You are a mental and spiritual being. When you leave the body, you immediately put on another fourth-dimensional body. You can see and be seen,

In other words, your personality never dies. This brother had.

an intense desire to save his brother's life. His subconscious mind knew the location of the medics and immediately projected him there, enabling him to be seen by the medics.

Also, his subconscious empowered him to speak and issue orders.

Today it is well known in scientific and academic laboratories that you can think, feel, see, hear, and travel, independent of your physical body. In other words, all the faculties of your senses can be duplicated in mind alone.

Infinite Intelligence makes no mistakes, and it was, therefore, intended that you use all these faculties transcendentally of your physical body and environment. The subtle body, sometimes referred to as the fourth-dimensional body, can appear and disappear at will, enter closed doors, give mes­

sages, move ponderable obj ects. Remember, you will have bodies to infinity. These bodies are rarefied and attenuated, vibrating at a higher molecular frequency.

4. If while listening to a lecture on mental and spiritual laws, you should desire some specific information regarding your personal problem, project your thought to the speaker, and you will find that he will usually respond.
