7 MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS

7.5.2 METODOS DE ANALISIS DE SENSIBILIDAD

Please get ready for the practice of prana nidra.

Before beginning the practice, remove any metal objects and adjust the clothing.

Settle the body into shavasana and make any necessary adjustments.

Take time to arrange the body comfortably, with the bac k straight, arms away from the sides o f the body, and the feet apart.

Be sure you will be warm/cool enough for the whole practice.

Stage 2: Relaxation

Feel the solidity o f the body as it settles on the floor.

Make any adjustm ents so you can rem ain still and comfortable for the duration of the practice.

Be aware o f the clothing and any covering on the body.

Be aware of the skin covering the body.

Feel the warmth and energy o f the body on one side ol the skin, and the space on the other side.

Be aware of any sensation in the head, neck, shoulders, right arm, left arm, whole spine.

Be aware of any sensation in the chest, the right side of the chest, the left side o f the chest, the whole chest, be aware o f the energy of the chest.

Be aware of the upper abdomen, the lower abdomen, the whole abdom en, the energy o f the abdomen.

Be aware o f the whole trunk o f the body and any sensations there.

Be aware o f the whole right leg and foot, the whole lefi leg and foot, aware o f the whole body.

Once more, check the whole body and make any Iasi m inute adjustm ents, and then make a sankalpa to rem ain still for the entire practice o f prana nidra.

The physical body should be so comfortable that il doesn’t disturb you at all, and you can become aware,

Feel the energy in the shoulder.

Let the whole shoulder relax, let the muscles relax, let go o f any tension. Move the awareness to the armpit, the side o f the chest, waist, hip.

Feel the energy throughout the left thigh, knee, shin, calf muscle, ankle, heel, the top o f the foot, the sole of the foot.

Feel the energy move into the big toe, second toe, third, fourth, little toe.

Push the energy right down into the little toe o f the left foot.

Be sure you are awake and aware o f energy right down to the little toe o f the left foot.

Feel the energy in the whole left side o f the body.

Feel both sides o f the body energized, balanced.

Now we will begin to move the awareness and energy throughout the back o f the body.

Be aware of the heels, calf muscles, backs o f the knees, backs of the thighs, buttocks, the curve o f the back, the back o f the shoulders.

Be aware of the whole spine, from the base o f the spine, move the awareness along the natural curve o f the spine, l ight up the back of the neck.

Feel the back of the arms, back o f the hands, back of the head.

Be aware o f sensations in the whole back o f the body.

Be aware of the whole head, whole head relaxed.

Awareness to the top o f the head.

Awareness o f the forehead, the forehead relaxed.

Feel the curve o f the left eyebrow, the right eyebrow.

Become aware o f the eyebrow centre and a distinct pulse o f energy there.

Become aware o f the right eye and let it relax, feel the small muscles around the eye and let them relax.

Feel the left eye, become aware o f the left eye, feel the small muscles around the eye and let them relax.

Feel the energy o f the eyes.

Palm o f the hand, feel the energy em anating from the palm o f the hand, feel the warm th o f the energy in the palm o f the hand.

Move the awareness to the back o f the hand and, as though you are shining a warm lamp into the arm, lei the energy flow to the back of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, u p p er arm, shoulder.

Feel the energy in the whole shoulder.

If the shoulder is tense, let it relax.

Be aware of the arm pit, the side of the chest, waist, hip.

Move the awareness into the right thigh and feel the energy throughout the thigh, knee, shin, calf muscle, ankle, heel, the top of the foot, the sole of the foot.

Bring the awareness and energy right down into the big toe of the right foot, second toe, third, fourth, little toe.

Push the energy right down into the little toe of the right foot.

Feel the energy in the whole right side o f the body.

Notice that the right half o f the body feels m ore alive and invigorated.

Be aware of the energy all throughout the right side of the body.

Now switch the awareness to the left side, to energize the left side of the body.

Bring the awareness to the left hand thumb.

Be aware o f the whole thumb, from the tip to the base, the energy inside, and the aura of energy em anating a little beyond the thumb.

Move the awareness to the first finger, feel the energy flowing with the awareness, filling the whole of the first finger, right to the tip.

Let the energy flow to the second finger, third finger, fourth.

Become aware of the hand, the warmth of the energy in the palm o f the hand.

Let it flow to the back o f the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm, shoulder.

T hen be aware of the whole back of the body and the different quality of energy em anating from the back of the body.

Feel the energy perm eating and em anating from the whole body.
